Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco
A driver picks you up from Cusco airport or the bus terminal and takes you to your hotel to get settled. Around noon, your guide meets you for an afternoon city tour that starts at Coricancha, the Temple of the Sun. From there you'll head out to see Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay, which are all archaeological sites surrounding the city. The tour wraps up around 5:00 pm, giving you time to grab dinner and rest before your next day.

- Day 2
Cusco to Machu Picchu
Your hotel arranges a pickup to Ollantaytambo train station where you'll board a train heading to Machu Picchu pueblo, also called Aguas Calientes, which takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Once you arrive, a shuttle bus takes you up the mountain to Machu Picchu itself. Your guide leads a 2 to 3 hour tour following the classic route, stopping at the guardhouse, main gate, Temple of the Sun, main plaza, and Sacred Rock. After that you'll return to Aguas Calientes where you have free time to walk around, grab lunch, and check out shops. Later you'll catch the local train back to Ollantaytambo and then private transportation back to your Cusco hotel.

On your final day, a driver picks you up from your hotel and takes you to Cusco airport or the bus station for your onward journey. Private transportation gets you there with plenty of time, and the tour ends here.
