Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo
You'll get picked up from Cairo Airport and head to your hotel to get settled. Later in the day, meet up with your Travel Director and other travelers for a welcome drink to start things off.
- Day 2
Cairo to Luxor
Fly to Luxor this morning and walk through the Karnak temple complex, including the avenue of ram-headed sphinxes and the Hypostyle Hall. After transferring to your cruise ship and having lunch on board, you'll check out the Luxor Museum to see ancient artifacts. Dinner and free time happen in the evening.

Luxor to Dendera to Edfu
This morning you visit the Temple of Hathor in Dendera, one of Egypt's best-preserved temples with a rare depiction of Cleopatra and her son Caesarian. Back on your ship for lunch, then cruise through the scenic Esna Lock on the way to Edfu.

Edfu to Kom Ombo to Aswan
Have breakfast while cruising the Nile toward Kom Ombo, then continue on to Aswan, a vibrant city with archaeological sites including Philae Temple Complex and Temple of Isis. Evening brings an Egyptian dinner and galabeya party.

Aswan
See Aswan's High Dam and granite quarries, where you can view the enormous unfinished obelisk. Travel by motorboat to the Temple of Isis on Philae Island rising from the Nile waters. The rest of your day is free to relax on the ship.

Aswan
Sail on a traditional felucca boat with a local sailor who explains the history and techniques of this ancient craft. Stop at a local women's co-operative supporting vulnerable women in the community. Later, have high tea at the historic Old Cataract Hotel at sunset, then watch the Sound and Light Show at Philae Island.

Aswan to Kom Ombo
Your morning is free to rest or join an optional excursion to Abu Simbel to see the temples of Ramesses II and Hathor overlooking Lake Nasser. Later, sail to Kom Ombo to visit Egypt's only double temple, dedicated to Sobek and Horus the Elder.

Kom Ombo to Luxor
Cruise leisurely along the Nile with time to use the ship facilities. During the day you'll take an Egyptian cooking class where you prepare traditional moussaka. In the evening, visit Luxor Temple where your ship docks for the night.

Luxor to Cairo
Leave the cruise and travel to the west bank of the Nile. You'll explore the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Valley of the Kings with tombs of pharaohs including Hatshepsut, Amenhotep I, and Tutankhamun. After visiting the Valley of the Queens with its 75 tombs from the 19th and 20th dynasties, head to the airport for your return flight to Cairo.

Cairo
Head up to the Citadel for sweeping views over the city. You'll visit the Alabaster Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, regarded as the founder of modern Egypt. Then explore the Grand Egyptian Museum to see its ancient artifacts, including treasures from Tutankhamun.

Travel to Memphis, the legendary ancient capital, to see the colossal statue of Ramses II and the Great Alabaster Sphinx. Continue to Saqqara for the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the oldest pyramid in Egypt. Then go to Giza to see the Sphinx. Your trip wraps up with canapes and a drink at your hotel with your Travel Director and fellow travelers.
