This trip was one of the best things we have ever done - and we travel quite a bit. Tour Radar really set up something amazing. It was then all done through Oomi Travel, who were outstanding. If you want to really find out what Japan is like, this is the tour for you. The itinerary and experiences were incredibly varied and the places we stayed in first-rate. The two separate nights in ryokans were an incredible experience. People everywhere were so friendly, gentle and hospitable, as as for guide (Masaki), this is a job he was born to do. He introduced us to so many different things. There is no way we could have had the breadth of experience, if we had tried doing it on our own. I wanted to try every food possible and to practise what little Japanese I had (from duolingo) and there was plenty of opportunity to do this. It is hard to pick out highlights, because every day was a highlight. I shall attempt a list - the snow monkeys, the hot springs, the endless variety of food, Matsomoto Castle (Samurai), the Takayama Spring Festival, free beer and sake in one hotel, the food market in Kyoto, the bamboo forest, the interview with a Meiko (trainee Geisha), Hiroshima (such a lovely and vibrant city, in spite of its past horror), the view of Mount Fuji, the open-air art museum in Hakone and eating dinner high up in a hotel at night with a view of Tokyo before us. We travelled a lot by bullet trains to save time. These too were amazing. If you do this , make sure you try an eki-ben (a special lunchbox for travelling by train). We had such a good time - thank you Tour Radar, Oomi and Masaki. Oh and we had a day making things like soba noodles and washi paper. Such fun.

What a memorable tour of Japan. Individuals are often quick to complain about tours but in this case there was nothing to complain about. From the organised itinerary, the limited group size, a small manageable number(in our case 10 but max is set to 12), the tour guide- Misaki who tendered to all our needs and kept us on schedule with no question or request dismissed. It was fantastic way to see this beautiful country and in all honesty one of the best organised tours we have undertaken. I would highly recommend this tour for the superb accomodation provided, numerous lunches and or dinners included but the best was the numerous,I believe 5 bullet train "Shinkansen" journeys undertaken. Not only with the Shinkansen, we also managed to experience most, if not all, modes of transport available in Japan. This is an inclusive offering and not much is left for the individual to supplement.
