You'll arrive in Bangkok and check into your hotel. This evening, you'll meet your Travel Director and the rest of the group for a welcome dinner to kick things off.

Bangkok
The morning offers a choice: join an optional early Thai Chi session in Lumpini Park with locals, or sleep in and join a city tour instead. After that, you'll head to the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew temple, then see the massive reclining Buddha at Wat Pho where you can also get a traditional Thai massage. Later, you'll take an express river boat back to your hotel, cruising past the Temple of the Dawn along the way.

You'll start with a cooking class led by a Local Specialist in a colonial-style house, visiting a local market to pick up fresh ingredients that represent Thai cuisine's five flavor profiles. After preparing and sampling your dishes, the afternoon is yours to spend as you like around Bangkok, or you can take an optional trip to Jim Thompson's House if that interests you.

Bangkok - Kanchanaburi
Early on, you'll head to the Damnoen Saduak floating market and paddle through the busy canals with merchants selling fresh produce. Next, you'll visit a coconut palm sugar plantation to see how farmers extract sap for sugar making. Following lunch, you'll see the Bridge over the River Kwai, walk across it, check out the Thailand-Burma Railway Museum for WWII history, and pay respects at the War Cemetery.

Kanchanaburi
You'll visit Hellfire Pass, a section of the Death Railway, to learn about the harsh conditions WWII prisoners endured while building this line. After lunch, you'll take a thrilling train ride across wooden viaducts along the winding Kwai River, then walk across one of them. Later, you'll have dinner at a local restaurant.

Following breakfast, you'll travel to the UNESCO-listed ancient city of Ayutthaya, which was once the second-most important capital and largest city in the world. You'll explore its rich trading heritage and historical sites that were damaged during the 18th-century Burmese invasion. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll head back to Bangkok for your flight to Sukhothai.

In the afternoon, you'll visit a local family's home to learn the art of amulet making.

Later, you'll travel to Chiang Mai and take an evening walk with your Travel Director through the lively Sunday market in the old town.

Afterward, you'll see the delicate hand-painted fans and colorful paper umbrellas that Chiang Mai is known for in the Sankamphaeng district.

By evening, you'll gather with your Travel Director and fellow travelers for dinner at a local restaurant.

Chiang Mai - Bangkok - Siem Reap
You'll transfer to the airport for a short international flight to Siem Reap in Cambodia with a connection through Bangkok. When you arrive, you'll meet your local Cambodian Travel Director. The rest of the day is yours to spend freely and explore on your own.

Siem Reap - Angkor
You'll walk through a pyramid-shaped gateway into the ancient lost city of Angkor. Crossing the causeway over the moat brings you into Angkor Wat, where you'll see its impressive size, intricate carvings, and murals of celestial nymphs and mythical serpents. You'll also visit Banteay Srei Temple, the 'Citadel of Women', with its delicate 10th-century carvings honoring the Hindu God Shiva. The day ends with a community experience in Krabei Riel where you'll learn traditional palm leaf weaving, followed by Cambodian cuisine and traditional Apsara dance entertainment.

Siem Reap - Angkor
You'll head into Angkor Thom to visit the Terrace of Elephants, Royal Enclosure, and Bayon Temple with its famous smiling Buddha faces. From there, you'll wander through Ta Prohm's mossy ruins, finding towers, courtyards, and stone carvings hidden among the foliage (you might recognize it from 'Tomb Raider'). In the afternoon, you'll visit Artisans d'Angkor to support Khmer silk making and wood carving. You'll also get a private blessing at Wat Damnak where a sacred thread is tied around your wrist. If interested, you can join an optional sunset boat cruise on Tonle Sap Lake.
