- Day 1
Frankfurt
You'll arrive at Frankfurt airport and meet your driver after collecting baggage. From there, head down to the River Main for a boat cruise on the MS Palladium. Spend about an hour on the water taking in Frankfurt's skyline while learning about the city's key attractions from the water.

- Day 2
Frankfurt to Heidelberg
Take the train to Heidelberg for the day. Start with Heidelberg Castle, where you can walk through the Gothic and Renaissance ruins and check out the huge courtyard with terrace views. You'll also see one of the world's largest wine barrels there. After the castle, wander through the medieval town center hitting the Old Bridge, Karlstor, and the Church of the Holy Spirit. If you want, walk Philosophers' Way or try some regional Baden wine before heading back to Frankfurt by train.

Frankfurt to Freiburg
Take the train to Freiburg and check into your hotel. For the rest of the day, the city is yours to explore on your own terms. Walk around, find neighborhoods that catch your eye, and pick wherever you'd like to eat dinner.

- Day 4
Freiburg
Walk through Freiburg's old town on your own, covering about 2.5 kilometers over 2 to 3 hours. Follow the Bächle watercourses through narrow alleys and discover hidden spots along the way. Stop by the market with its flowers, produce, and local cheeses. Try a glass of Baden wine like Pinot Gris at the Alte Wache vinotheque. If theme parks interest you more, Europa-Park has 100 attractions spread across 15 European-themed areas as an alternative.

Head to Basel by train and settle into your hotel. Spend the afternoon checking out Basel's old town on your own. Walk around to see the Tinguely Fountain, Cathedral Hill, the town hall, and the winding streets of the well-preserved historic district.

- Day 6
Basel
You have the full day free in Basel to do whatever appeals to you. Visit the Basel Zoo, take a cruise on the Rhine River, or plan other activities. There's also an optional excursion to Mt. Titlis if you want to experience the gondola and cable car rides.

Basel Departure
Time to leave Basel. Take the airport shuttle from your hotel if it's available, which costs 6 to 8 Swiss Francs per person and you'll pay directly at the hotel desk.
