Itinerary
- Day 1
Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi
A driver picks you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and takes you to Moshi town, where you'll check into Mbugani hotel. Your driver guide will brief you on what to expect during the climb ahead, then you'll have the rest of the day to rest and prepare.

- Day 2
Kilimanjaro National Park Gate to Mandara Hut
After breakfast and a final briefing, you'll drive to Kilimanjaro National Park Gate to register and start the climb. The hike to Mandara encampment takes you through rainforest with tall Eucalyptus trees, birds, and Colobus monkeys. A short side trip to Maundi Crater gives you views into Northern Tanzania and Kenya. The walk covers 7 km over about 3 hours through montane forest.

- Day 3
Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
You'll move from the rainforest into open moorlands heading toward Horombo encampment. The landscape shifts and you'll see Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, along with giant lobelias and groundsels. This 12 km hike takes roughly 6 hours. Altitude effects may start affecting how you feel at this point.

Horombo Hut to Alpine Desert Camp
The climb continues past the last water source onto the saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi. Vegetation changes from upper heathland into a stark, moonlike landscape. You'll cover 10 km in 6 to 8 hours through alpine desert. After reaching Kibo encampment, you'll have dinner and sleep before the midnight summit push.

Summit Push and Return to Horombo Hut
You start climbing in darkness between midnight and 2 a.m., hiking steeply up scree or snow to Gilman's Point on the crater rim. From there, continue to Uhuru Peak, Africa's highest point, for photos and views. The ascent covers 4 km, then you descend 14 km back through Kibo for lunch before heading down to Horombo encampment. Total time is 10 to 15 hours with many steep switchbacks in the dark, so pace matters and staying focused helps.

Descent to Moshi
After breakfast, you'll descend steadily through moorland to Mandara Hut, then continue down through forest to the National Park gate at Marangu. Lower elevations can be wet and muddy, so gaiters and trekking poles help. Wear shorts and a t-shirt while keeping rain gear and warmer clothes ready. A vehicle meets you at Marangu village and drives you back to Mbugani hotel in Moshi. You'll celebrate the climb, tip your guides and porters, and can take an optional trip to hot springs if you're up for it.

Tarangire National Park
An early pickup at Mbugani Hotel starts your drive to Tarangire National Park via the Arusha-Dodoma Road past Makuyuni Junction. The park is known for large elephant herds and the Big Five (rhino excluded), plus birdlife and huge baobab trees. The Tarangire River keeps wildlife concentrated year-round. You'll do afternoon game drives, then settle in at Migombani campsite and lodge for dinner and the night.

- Day 8
Ngorongoro Crater
Head out very early through Karatu township to reach the Ngorongoro Conservation Area's Loduare Main Gate by morning. After registering, stop at Crater's View point for photos overlooking the crater floor. Most of the day involves game drives on the crater floor where the Big Five and many other animals gather in high numbers. The crater holds the largest concentration of wild animals in their natural setting. A picnic lunch happens at a designated site, then you'll drive to Migombani campsite and lodge for dinner.

Lake Manyara National Park and Departure
Breakfast at your campsite is prepared by professional safari cooks. From there, you enter Lake Manyara National Park at the base of the Great Rift Valley for your final safari day. The park's lush forests are fed by underground rivers and home to elephants, giraffes, and countless primates including monkeys and large baboon groups. The lake covers two-thirds of the park (220 sq km) with hippos, cormorants, Egyptian geese, herons, and flamingos. After game drives, you'll transfer to Kilimanjaro airport in the afternoon.
