Itinerary
- Day 1
Santa Marta to Camp Adán
Your guide picks you up from your hotel in Santa Marta around 8:30 or 9:00 a.m., then you'll ride in a 4x4 vehicle for about 2.5 hours to reach Mamey and Machete Pelao. From there, the trek to Camp Adán kicks off, taking you through roughly 9km and 600 meters of elevation gain over 3 to 4 hours. You'll stop for lunch somewhere along the route, and once you reach camp, there's time to jump into natural pools to cool off before dinner. For the night, you'll settle into either a hammock or bunk bed depending on what the camp has available.

- Day 2
Camp Adán to Camp 3
After breakfast, you head out through thick jungle and follow along clear rivers on your way to Camp 2, where lunch and a quick swim in the Río Buritaca are waiting. Your guide walks you through the area and talks about Kogui culture as you pass by a local village. From there, you keep climbing toward Camp 3, reaching it at around 900 meters elevation. This camp sits about an hour away from Ciudad Perdida. You'll spend the night in hammocks or bunk beds again, depending on where you're staying.

Camp 3 to Ciudad Perdida to Camp Teyuna
Start early in the morning so you have plenty of time to explore Ciudad Perdida, an old archaeological site the Tayrona people built between the 11th and 14th centuries. It sits between 1000 and 2000 meters elevation and ranks as the second largest site of its type, right after Machu Picchu. After you've had a look around, the trek continues to Camp Teyuna for the night. You'll rest in either hammocks with mosquito nets or simple shelters that have beds.

Camp 2 to Santa Marta
On your final day, you leave Camp 2 early in the morning and hike back to El Mamey over 5 to 6 hours and 11 kilometers. After a last lunch with the group, the jeeps pick you up and drive you back toward Santa Marta, where you'll arrive in the late afternoon and the trek officially ends.
