- Lee· December 29th, 2024I was not well when I commenced this tour but the tour guide cared for me until I improved. Niagara Falls and the beautiful colours of the autumn leaves along the highways were all amazing. Being next to an Amish female on the horse drawn carriage and learning about their lifestyle and family was a definite highlight. Philadelphia had lots of soup kitchens and people lined the streets for miles which was sad. New York City is vibrant and full of people but I prefer the countryside with peace and quiet.Show more

Traveler•Written March 2025I just would like to be sure that I must take a sleeping bag for these 5 nights in Madison camp and Snake River cabins. It's take a lot of room in my backpack as I will travel 2 months and won't use it anywhere else. I thought it would be possible to rent or buy one once in place.

There is no option to hire sleeping bags through ourselves in destination unfortunately, you can potentially do it locally upon arrival with a company or provider not affiliated with ourselves. Otherwise, you would need to bring your own.

Understanding that that can change are we sleeping in tents or cabins/motels/hotels?; if booked would you include a packing list of anything you may need or could we mail things (amazon) to the first hotel that we would need during the trip?

This tour is one of our 'Active' styles of tours. The physical rating is 3 out of 5. It is designed for those who like to be active and hike as well as whitewater raft and other activities. We also offer tours that are not active and are under 'Classic' style. If you do not want to hike or do activity daily we recommend one of these tours.

Accommodation will be participation camping for 5 nights. This means you will help set up and break down the camp site and help with meal preparation. This is 5 nights in tents.

Traveler•Written June 2024There are no flights that get me in the same day as the tour, I would have to come the day before. Can you help with booking/recommending accomodations or what area should I stay in to be near where the welcome meeting will be?

The start of the trip is 8am at the Elk Country Inn, so you could try booking a room there for the night before. There are a few other hotels within walking distance as well. Unfortunately we do not have any access to pre tour hotel accommodations for this trip.
