Itinerary
- Day 1
Amman
You'll arrive at Queen Alia International Airport where a free transfer will take you to your hotel in Amman. Once you're settled, spend the rest of the day getting oriented and preparing for your Jordan journey ahead.
- Day 2
Amman
After breakfast and a welcome briefing, you'll walk through Amman's Roman amphitheatre, which dates back to the second century. From there, head up to the Amman Citadel on the city's highest hill to see Roman, Byzantine, and Umayyad structures. Later, you'll finish at the Jordan Museum where you can see the country's history and heritage, including the famous Ain Ghazal statues.

As Salt - Pella - Umm Qais - Ajloun
You'll leave early for As Salt, a UNESCO World Heritage site spread across three hills. Check out the As Salt Archaeological Museum, Abu Jaber Museum, and Al Hammam Street for its shops and architecture. Then continue to Pella to see Byzantine remains, and later arrive at Umm Qais where you'll have a traditional lunch prepared by a local family in their home. After that, visit the ruins of Gadara overlooking the Sea of Galilee before driving to Ajloun Forest Reserve where you'll stay in comfortable cabins.

Jerash - Azraq
Begin with Ajloun Castle, the atmospheric 12th century Muslim fortress built under Saladin's rule. Drive to Jerash to walk through Gerasa, one of Jordan's most impressive Roman sites featuring colonnaded avenues, theatres, and temples including the Temple of Zeus. Then head into the eastern desert to Azraq, where you'll stay at a lodge that was partly a 1940s British military field hospital and have a buffet dinner prepared by a local Chechen family.

- Day 5
Desert Castles - Bethany Beyond the Jordan - Dead Sea
Start by visiting Azraq Wetlands Reserve to explore this important bird migration stopover. Then see Azraq Castle, where Lawrence of Arabia had his headquarters. Explore the Desert Castles: Qasr Amra with its extensive fresco paintings, Qasr Kharana from the Umayyad Dynasty, and Qasr Al-Abed, a pre-Roman construction. After that, visit the Iraq Al-Amir women's co-operative supporting local artisans, and finish at Bethany Beyond the Jordan, a UNESCO site where Jesus was baptised. End by driving along the Dead Sea shores to your chalets.

Berenice Beach - Wadi Rum
Start with a visit to Al Numeira Environmental Association to learn about conservation and water techniques. Drive south along the coast and spend time at Berenice Beach by the Red Sea before heading to Wadi Rum. You'll explore this UNESCO World Heritage site with its sandstone mountains and desert floor, then stay at an exclusive private Bedouin camp. The evening brings a traditional zarb dinner cooked underground and a chance to learn about Bedouin culture and music.

Wadi Musa
Your Bedouin hosts take you on an approximately four-hour 4x4 adventure through Wadi Rum's dramatic landscapes, with traditional Bedouin tea stops along the way. Afterwards, you'll drive to Wadi Musa, the town next to Petra, and visit the Petra Museum to get ready for exploring the archaeological site the next day.

- Days 8 - 9
Petra
You'll spend two days exploring Petra, the Red Rose City. On the first day, enter through the narrow Siq chasm and emerge at El Khazneh, the Treasury, then continue through the city centre past homes and tombs carved directly into red-and-yellow sandstone. On the second day, your guide leads you back to explore further or hike the optional 750 steps up to El Deir, the Monastery, with its impressive facade. There's also an option to have dinner with a local family one evening, which you'd pay for locally.

Little Petra - Shobak - Dana
You'll take a short drive to Little Petra, believed to have been a suburb where Silk Road traders stayed. Then continue to Shobak Castle, the Crusader fortress built in 1115 by King Baldwin I, featuring catacombs, a watchtower, Christian carvings and Islamic tablets. Drive along the scenic King's Highway for 40 minutes to Dana Village in the Dana Biosphere Reserve. You'll walk through the village past terraced gardens, craft workshops, and original Ottoman buildings before checking into RSCN-run accommodation.

Kerak - Umm ar-Rasas - Madaba - Mount Nebo
Leave Dana and drive along the scenic King's Highway through the hills to Kerak, which has an ancient Crusader castle with a maze of dark halls and passageways. On clear days you can see the Dead Sea and Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. Continue to Umm ar-Rasas, a little-visited UNESCO World Heritage site with impressive mosaic floors in the Church of St Stephen. Head to Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of Palestine in St George's Church, then visit Mount Nebo at 2,295ft (700m) high, the viewpoint where Moses is said to have first seen the Promised Land.

Have a final breakfast at your hotel, a good time to reflect on your adventure. A free shared transfer will take you back to Amman airport for your journey home.
