Itinerary
- Day 1
Hanoi to Halong Bay
You'll arrive at Halong Bay and board the Rita Cruise, getting settled into your cabin with a welcome drink in hand. Vietnamese seafood lunch happens while you're cruising through the bay, then it's time to head to Dark & Bright Cave where kayaking or bamboo boat rides are available. After that, you'll swim at Tra Bau Beach before joining an afternoon tea party. There's a Vietnamese cooking class later, and dinner onboard comes with evening entertainment like squid fishing or karaoke if you're interested.

Viet Hai Village
Your day starts exploring Lan Ha Bay on a small day-boat. You'll cycle 5km out to Viet Hai village, a quiet isolated village in Cat Ba National Park (electric car is an option if cycling isn't your thing). Back on the boat, lunch comes with views of the scenery around you. Then you'll kayak near Tai Keo cave area and its underground lake called the 'Dragon Eye', followed by a stop at Ba Trai Dao hidden beaches for swimming. By mid-afternoon you're back at the Rita Cruise for a break, then there's an evening cooking class and dinner before staying overnight.

Halong Bay to Hanoi
Start early with optional tai-chi on the sundeck at sunrise if that appeals to you, then have breakfast with views of the bay. Frog Pond is next, the location where King Kong was filmed, and you can swim or kayak there for about 45 minutes. After checking out of your cabin, there's a final buffet lunch served while the boat heads back toward the port. You'll take a tender boat to Tuan Chau pier and get a limousine transfer back to Hanoi, arriving in the early afternoon.
