We often got to the excursion sites before other tour groupes which was hugely beneficial. We fitted in so much in just a few days and loved ever-minute.., my first solo trip was an epic success and a great mixture of others too. Cathy· January 9th, 2023The tour packed a lot in and altho only 3 full days of site seeing it felt a lot longer. We saw some amazing waterfalls, geysirs, the blue lagoon and stunning scenery and got interesting commentary along the way from our lovely guide. Unfortunately we didn't get to go to Vik and the black lava beach due to bad weather conditions and closed roads however the guide found alternative things for us to see instead. Spending NYE in a small town surrounded by all the fireworks and bonfires was amazing and the cabins on Arhus were in a great location, where we managed to see the lights HOWEVER I hope they don't use this accommodation again as there was no one in reception and some of the group had no power, lights or heating! GJ Travel were great in getting up all upgraded the next night to the hotel for free. The itinerary says that on 2 nights we were going to get presentations on the northern lights and a guided tour with midnight refreshments and the accommodation in arhus could also give wake up calls to see them. We unfortunately do not have any family rooms for the tour. If you are interested in booking the tour you would need to book two rooms. We can always request to have rooms close to each other. An 8 year old and a 10 year old could have some fun experiencing something different. There is a bonfire on New Year's Eve, seeing the fireworks. The sites you are going to see are some of the most popular sights in Iceland. This would be a great tour for you!
