    Greenland

You'll arrive in Greenland and get picked up at the airport, then head out on a RIB boat to Narsaq, a small southern city with around 1,500 residents. Once you reach Narsaq, you'll get your equipment sorted and ready for the expedition ahead. The night is spent in a hostel so you can rest up before things get started.

  2. Days 2 - 9

Tugtutoq Island - Qaleraliq Fjord - Ice Cap

After meeting your guide, you'll receive a technical briefing on your kayaking and trekking gear to make sure you're prepared. The day kicks off with kayaking through low-slung islands where you'll see waterfalls and icebergs, then trek to nearby slopes and visit a local fisherman's hut. You'll paddle through Ikerssuaq Fjord toward Qaleraliq glacier and its three glacier tongues, then trek onto the ice cap itself to experience crevasses and ice formations firsthand. Nights are spent in tents while you explore fjords and glacial terrain. Keep an eye out for whales, caribou, and Northern Lights (visible from early August onward), and you'll have chances to fish for arctic salmon or gather mushrooms and cranberries.

By afternoon you'll arrive back in Narsaq by kayak, collect your gear, and say goodbye to your guide before heading to the hostel for another night.

    • TasermiutOperatorWritten April 2024

We always recommend to arrive one day before if possible or if not with time enough because if you have a delay in your flight to Iceland you can lose the connection to Greenland and there is no other flight on that day and you take the risk of losing your trip.
