The ship navigates through towering mountains and past blue icebergs while you watch for whales and Greenlandic gyrfalcons. You'll make shore landings for nature walks and have opportunities to kayak. A stop in Ittoqqortoormiit lets you visit one of the most remote inhabited places in the Western Hemisphere. Weather permitting, you might explore the eastern ice edge, and throughout it all you're contributing to citizen science projects that help protect this region.

Glistening icebergs and semi-submerged glacial ice fill the fjord with pure white and crystalline blue colors. So few people venture this far that the remote setting feels extra special. The expedition team picks the best spots for shore walks with incredible views, or you can explore by boat to look for wildlife.

The local museum has ancient Saqqaq artifacts that tell that story. Before leaving, pick up a special souvenir like scarves or mittens made of qiviut (musk ox wool) that's supposedly 10 times warmer than sheep wool. The expedition team continues with onboard lectures covering Northern Labrador wildlife, Inuit culture, and Arctic exploration history. The strait attracts seals, whales, and cod. Possible stops include Pond Inlet, Dundas Harbour, Fort Ross, Gjoa Haven, and Cambridge Bay. Each site connects to early exploration history and Inuit communities. Watch for polar bears, whales, narwhals, seals, and seabirds. You'll cruise between ice floes on small boats and see pristine wilderness. The expedition team adjusts activities based on ice and weather conditions, potentially reaching Baffin Island's Pond Inlet, exploring Devon Island's Dundas Harbour, visiting Beechey Island to respect Franklin expedition graves, then moving west to Fort Ross and Gjoa Haven where Roald Amundsen learned survival skills from Netsilik Inuit people.
