Reykjavik
You'll land in Reykjavik and have time to explore the city on your own terms. Walk down Laugavegur to check out local shops, or head to Hallgrímskirkja church to see its distinctive architecture. The Reykjavik Art Museum is worth a visit if you're interested in local art. Later, board MS Fram at the harbor, settle into your cabin, and meet the expedition team who'll walk you through the ship and what to expect over the coming weeks.

- Day 2
Reykjavik to Greenland
As you sail across the Denmark Strait toward Greenland, the expedition team briefs you on wildlife protocols and how to interact respectfully with Arctic communities. You'll have the day to yourself—head to the Science Center if you want to learn more, sign up for citizen science projects, use the gym, or spend time in the panoramic sauna. Dinner happens in one of the onboard restaurants when you're ready.

Scoresby Sund, Greenland
Over the next nine days, you're exploring Scoresby Sund, the world's largest fjord system. The ship navigates through towering mountains and past blue icebergs while you watch for whales and Greenlandic gyrfalcons. You'll make shore landings for nature walks and have opportunities to kayak. A stop in Ittoqqortoormiit lets you visit one of the most remote inhabited places in the Western Hemisphere. Weather permitting, you might explore the eastern ice edge, and throughout it all you're contributing to citizen science projects that help protect this region.

Return to Reykjavik
Sailing back across the Denmark Strait to Iceland, you'll spend time with people you've met from Greenland sharing stories and impressions. Drop by the Science Center for more learning, attend expert lectures about the region, or simply relax on deck and watch for seabirds and whales as you think back on everything you've seen.

Reykjavik
Back in Reykjavik, you have another chance to see what you missed the first time around. Browse galleries and museums throughout the city, or head out to the Blue Lagoon for a completely different kind of experience. You'll relax in bright blue geothermal waters heated by volcanic activity, grab a drink, chat with other people there, and prepare for the next part of your journey toward western Greenland and the Northwest Passage.

Reykjavik to Western Greenland
You're sailing back across the Denmark Strait again, this time toward western Greenland and following Erik the Red's historic route. This coast is where most Greenlanders actually live, so you'll get to see towns and settlements scattered along the shore. Expect fjords, glaciers, and mountains that define this part of the country.

Prince Christian Sound, Greenland
The ship enters Prince Christian Sound, a 60-mile passage where sharp granite peaks rise against bright glaciers. Keep your eyes open for icebergs and watch for ringed and bearded seals lounging on ice. You'll spot glaucous gulls and black guillemots flying around, and if you're lucky, minke or humpback whales. The colorful houses of Aappilattoq village pop against the landscape. If ice blocks the passage, you'll head to Cape Farewell instead, Greenland's southernmost point.

Kvanefjord, Greenland
Arriving at Kvanefjord in Sermersooq (the name means 'Place of Much Ice'), you see why it lives up to that description. Glistening icebergs and semi-submerged glacial ice fill the fjord with pure white and crystalline blue colors. So few people venture this far that the remote setting feels extra special. The expedition team picks the best spots for shore walks with incredible views, or you can explore by boat to look for wildlife.

Nuuk, Greenland
Nuuk, Greenland's capital, has 18,000 residents and a striking mix of old buildings and ultra-modern structures. Walk past historic sites like the Hans Egede House and Nuuk Cathedral, then check out the parliament building's contemporary design. The National Museum shows what life looked like 500 years ago and displays six Qilakitsoq mummies. Alternatively, take a nature walk through Paradise Valley and around Mt. Lille Malene to stretch your legs.

- Day 19
Sisimiut, Greenland
You'll reach Sisimiut, Greenland's second-largest city, positioned just 25 miles north of the Arctic Circle. This place has a history stretching back over 4,500 years. The local museum has ancient Saqqaq artifacts that tell that story. Before leaving, pick up a special souvenir like scarves or mittens made of qiviut (musk ox wool) that's supposedly 10 times warmer than sheep wool. Spend time exploring on foot and get in a good hike to work off some energy.

Ilulissat, Greenland
Disko Bay and Ilulissat come into view, with Ilulissat Icefjord being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Giant icebergs float past in deep blue water, showing off different shades of white, gray, and blue. Colorful houses sit along the shore while the ever-changing gallery of ice formations slides by. Work with the ship's photographer to capture details and nuances of these natural sculptures.

Davis Strait, Canada
You leave Greenland and cross the Labrador Sea toward Canada, entering Davis Strait (named after 16th-century explorer John Davis). The expedition team continues with onboard lectures covering Northern Labrador wildlife, Inuit culture, and Arctic exploration history. The strait attracts seals, whales, and cod. You can join citizen science projects to photograph and track whales, or contribute to the GLOBE Program by observing clouds and helping scientists study climate.

Landmarks Davis Strait - Days 23 - 29
Canadian Arctic Archipelago
Sailing through Canada's Arctic archipelago without a set schedule, your ice-class ship navigates from the Atlantic toward the Pacific via the historic Northwest Passage. Possible stops include Pond Inlet, Dundas Harbour, Fort Ross, Gjoa Haven, and Cambridge Bay. Each site connects to early exploration history and Inuit communities. Watch for polar bears, whales, narwhals, seals, and seabirds. You'll cruise between ice floes on small boats and see pristine wilderness. The expedition team adjusts activities based on ice and weather conditions, potentially reaching Baffin Island's Pond Inlet, exploring Devon Island's Dundas Harbour, visiting Beechey Island to respect Franklin expedition graves, then moving west to Fort Ross and Gjoa Haven where Roald Amundsen learned survival skills from Netsilik Inuit people.

Cambridge Bay, Canada
Cambridge Bay, your disembarkation point, is rich with Arctic wildlife so you might spot Arctic char, musk oxen, and caribou. Visit the Canadian High Arctic Research Station, a key climate change research center. With only 2,000 residents, the town (whose Indigenous name 'Iqaluktuuttiaq' means 'a good fishing place') attracts fly-fishers hunting giant Arctic char and lake trout. Explore the town and then head to the airport for your evening flight to Montréal.
