Itinerary
- Day 1
Golden Circle to South Coast
Starting your day with a pickup in Reykjavik, you'll head to Thingvellir National Park to see the dramatic rift valley where tectonic plates meet. From there, you'll drive to the Geysir geothermal area where Strokkur erupts roughly every 10-15 minutes, so you might catch several displays. After that, you'll walk right up to Gullfoss waterfall and feel the power of the water and mist. Grab lunch somewhere along the way, then continue south to Seljalandsfoss where the trail lets you walk behind the curtain of water. It's quite a different experience from viewing it from in front. Next comes Skógafoss, another powerful waterfall on the South Coast, and then you'll finish at Reynisfjara beach with its black sand and basalt columns before heading to your hotel.

- Day 2
South Coast - Vík to Höfn
After breakfast, you'll drive east toward the coastal village of Vik to see Reynisdrangar sea stacks rising from the black sand. Here you can choose to pay extra for either the Katla Ice Cave (available May through September) or the Crystal Ice Cave near Jökulsárlón if visiting October through April, or just explore Vik on your own for free. Lunch happens in Vik, then you'll continue driving toward Fjadrargljufur canyon, which has those tall colorful cliffs rising from a river gorge. From there, head to Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon where chunks of ice break off the glacier and float in the water. Just five minutes away is Diamond Beach where those same ice fragments wash up on black sand. You'll reach your hotel in the Höfn area by evening.

- Day 3
East Iceland
This morning you'll head along the coast to Djupivogur, a small fishing village where you can see the 'Eggs in Gleðivik' art installation with 34 types of local birds' eggs. Continuing on, you'll drive to Egilstaðir using either the Öxi highland route if it's summer, which has cascading waterfalls along the way, or the coastal route through fishing villages in winter. Stop in Egilstaðir for lunch and a break. After that, you'll go to Borgarfjörður Eystri to watch puffin colonies if you're visiting between late April and late August. You can also choose to add an extra cost visit to Vök Baths for a soak in natural hot springs on Lake Urridavatn, or spend free time exploring Egilstaðir instead. Finally, you'll head back to Egilstaðir and check into your hotel.

- Day 4
North Iceland - Studlagil to Akureyri
After breakfast and checking out, you'll explore the western side of Studlagil Canyon with its striking basalt columns and blue glacial river. Then you'll drive to Dettifoss, which is Europe's most powerful waterfall, and you'll really feel the force and hear the roar from the ground. Moving on, you'll enter the Lake Mývatn area starting at Námaskarð geothermal area where you'll see bubbling mud pots, steam vents, and colorful mineral deposits scattered across otherworldly terrain. Walking through Dimmuborgir lava field comes next, where strange rock formations and lava pillars create an eerie landscape. You'll also visit the pseudocraters at Skútustaðagígar for views across the area. Then comes Goðafoss waterfall, which has historical connections to ancient Icelandic sagas. You'll finish the day by checking into your hotel in the Akureyri area.

- Day 5
Northwest Iceland - Akureyri to Laugarbakki
After breakfast, you'll explore Akureyri, known as the Capital of the North. You have the option to pay extra for a whale watching tour down at the harbor, or spend free time walking the main street, climbing up to the church, and checking out the botanical gardens. Lunch is in Akureyri, then you'll drive to Víðimórkirkja, a historic turf church that shows what rural Icelandic homes looked like with their traditional sod construction. Next is Hítsertur, a rock formation rising from the sea with interesting shapes and local stories attached to it. You'll also visit Koluglúfur, a canyon with waterfalls and quiet areas named after a giantess from local folklore. The day ends when you arrive at your hotel in Laugarbakki.

- Day 6
Borgarfjörður - Silver Circle to Reykjavik
Starting after breakfast, you'll head to Grábrok, a volcanic crater where a short walk takes you to the rim with wide-open views across the landscape. Then you're off to Hraunfossar, a series of waterfalls that flow right through old lava fields, creating striking contrasts between blue water and dark volcanic rock. You'll visit Sturlureykir, a traditional Icelandic horse farm where you can learn about the unique horses and their importance to Icelandic culture. Deildartunguhver comes next, Europe's most powerful hot spring, where boiling water comes straight from the earth. Finally, you'll drive back to Reykjavik, check into your hotel, and have the evening to yourself to walk around town and get dinner.

- Day 7
Snæfellsnes Peninsula to Reykjavik
On your last day, you'll have breakfast at the hotel before checking out, then drive to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula to see diverse landscapes and learn about local culture. First is the Berserkjahraun Lava Field, which has interesting stories tied to it from local folklore. Then you'll see Mt. Kirkjufell with Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall, a spot that photographers love. You'll explore Snæfellsjökull National Park with its glacier-topped volcano and varied scenery. Next comes Djúpalónssandur Beach with black sand and remnants of a shipwreck. Lóndrangar Basalt Cliffs offer dramatic photo opportunities and have their own local tales. You'll wander through Arnarstapi village, a small coastal settlement with history and a working harbor. The Búðir Black Church is an iconic building set against the landscape. Before heading back to Reykjavik, you'll stop at Ytri-Tunga Seal Beach for a chance to see seals in their natural setting. Your driver will drop you off in Reykjavik where you'll say goodbye to the group.
