- Day 1
Arrival in La Paz
You'll land at El Alto International Airport and get transferred to your hotel in La Paz. The drive into the city takes about 30 minutes and gives you nice views of the city lights spreading out below as evening settles in, so you can get your bearings and rest up for the days ahead.

Tiwanaku and La Paz City Tour
This morning you're heading out on a 1.5-hour drive to Tiwanaku to walk through pre-Inca ruins. You'll see the Kalasasaya temple, the Gate of the Sun, various monoliths, and the Akapana pyramid, plus check out the local museums there. After that, it's back to La Paz for a four-hour city tour in the afternoon that takes in street markets, colonial architecture, San Francisco Church, the Gold Museum, Murillo Square, the Mirador de Killi Killi viewpoint where you get great city views, and finishes at the Valley of the Moon.

La Paz to Uyuni Salt Flats
You're flying from La Paz to Uyuni, and someone picks you up at 10:00am. From there you head to the Uyuni Salt Flats, stopping first at the train cemetery along the way. Next you'll stop in Colchani to see how they extract salt, then move on to Incahuasi Island where giant cacti grow right out of the salt flats. Later in the day, you continue north to see mummies at Volcano Tunupa before heading back to Colchani.

Uyuni to Copacabana
You're transferring from Uyuni to Copacabana Town today. It's a few hours by road, and you'll stay overnight at Ecolodge La Estancia or similar lodging near the lake.

Lake Titicaca and Return to La Paz
Get up early to catch the sunrise over Lake Titicaca from your accommodation. After breakfast, you'll take a boat cruise to see some Inca ruins on the water, then continue by boat to Moon Island for more exploring. By evening you're heading back to Copacabana, then traveling back to La Paz. Once you're in El Alto, you'll ride a cable car down into the city to finish the day.
