Itinerary
- Day 1
Rome
You'll arrive in Rome and get settled into your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to spend however you'd like - take a walk around the city, relax after traveling, or stay in and rest. This evening you'll meet your Travel Director and the other travelers on the tour. There's an optional dinner available if you want to head to a local Roman trattoria for your first meal.

- Day 2
Rome
A Local Specialist will guide you through Rome's main sights this morning. You'll see St. Peter's Square and St. Peter's Basilica, where Michelangelo's Piet\u00e0 is on display. After crossing the Tiber, you'll check out the ancient Colosseum and other remnants from the Roman Empire. You can add on visits to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel if you want, or take a guided tour of Rome's historic piazzas and fountains instead.

Rome to Florence
You'll travel through Tuscany today, driving past rolling vineyards and olive groves toward Florence. Along the way, you'll stop in Pisa to see the Square of Miracles and the famous Leaning Tower. There's time set aside for picking up souvenirs before heading on to Florence. An optional dinner is available in the Tuscan Hills, which includes local wine and live music.

Florence
Florence's art and architecture are the focus today as you walk through the city with a Local Specialist. You'll see the Baptistery, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's Bell Tower, and Ponte Vecchio. At Piazza della Signoria, there's a leatherwork demonstration to watch. You can optionally visit Michelangelo's David at the Academy of Fine Arts or explore Palazzo Vecchio. Free time afterwards lets you shop or wander around on your own before dinner back at your hotel.

Florence to Venice
The route heads across the dramatic Apennine Mountains to Verona, where you'll see the vast Roman Arena and visit Juliet's Balcony from Shakespeare's tragic tale. Then it's on to Venice for a two-night stay. You'll have time to explore Venice's canals and romantic streets at your own pace, or you can join an optional private water taxi and gondola ride if you prefer.

Venice
You'll cruise by private launch to St. Mark's Square in central Venice this morning. From there, it's easy to walk to nearby attractions and wander through Venice's narrow streets called calle. Part of the day includes watching skilled craftspeople create Venetian glass as part of a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER Experience. You also have the option to visit the Basilica of St. Mark or take a cruise out to Burano, the colorful island known for its painted houses.
