Itinerary
- Day 1
Phnom Penh to Koh Dach
Your adventure kicks off with hotel pickup at 12:30pm, then you'll head to the Mekong Dawn boat for check-in and a welcome drink. Lunch comes as you cruise toward Koh Dach, where you'll walk through the weaving village and see locals working traditional hand looms while learning how silk gets made. Back on the boat, you'll settle in for a sundowner as you head to your overnight anchorage.

Koh Dach to Kampong Tralach
Sleep in a bit and have breakfast at your own pace while the boat cruises toward Oudong. First stop is Koh Chen, where you'll see craftspeople doing silver and copper work. After lunch, you're climbing Oudong Mountain for views across the country and checking out ancient stupas and tombs from when this was Cambodia's capital between 1618 and 1866. The boat takes you to Kampong Tralach for an evening sundowner and dinner along the Tonle Sap River.

Kampong Tralach to Kampong Chhnang
Following a filling breakfast, you'll take a traditional ox cart ride out to Kampong Tralach Temple from 1841, then return to the boat as it heads toward Kampong Chhnang. You'll switch to a smaller boat for the pottery village, then explore by tuk-tuk through rice paddies, sugar palms, and lotus ponds with water buffaloes and wooden stilt houses scattered around. Back on the boat that evening, you'll have dinner and drinks while watching the river.

Kampong Chhnang to Siem Reap
After breakfast, you'll leave the Mekong Dawn and travel by air-conditioned coach toward Siem Reap through quiet rural countryside. The coach stops in Kampong Thom province so you can see an old bridge or grab coffee. Lunch happens at a local restaurant, then you're heading out to Kampong Phluk floating village on the Tanas River to see over 1,000 people living in wooden stilt houses with their school, temple, church and restaurants. You should reach your Siem Reap hotel around 4:00pm, wrapping up the trip.
