Itinerary
- Day 1
Bangkok
You'll arrive at either Suvarnabhumi or Donmuang Airport where a local representative meets you for the transfer to your hotel. Once you check in, the rest of the day is yours to explore Bangkok however you'd like. Many people grab some street food from the vendors scattered around the city or take a tuk tuk ride to get a feel for the neighborhoods and traffic patterns.

- Day 2
Bangkok to Khao Yai
Heading out from Bangkok toward Saraburi province to see Phra Buddha Badh, a significant Buddhist temple complex with a lot of historical importance. After lunch, you'll continue to Khao Yai National Park where hiking trails and waterfalls like the 20-meter Haew Suwat (from 'The Beach' film) are waiting. Wildlife spotting here includes bears, gibbons, elephants, and hornbills if you're patient and quiet. The day also takes you through Wat Theppithak temple and a local fruit market at Klang Dong.

Khao Yai to Korat to Pimai
Still in Khao Yai, you'll start at Krong Keo Waterfalls where a bamboo suspension bridge crosses above the water. From there, head to the Thai Suranaree Memorial, a site honoring a woman's defense against Laotian invaders. Wat Sala Loi is next, and this temple has an unusual shape resembling a Chinese junk ship. After lunch in Korat, you'll drive to Pimai to check out its museum and the Khmer temples locally known as 'Angkor Wat of Thailand'. The day finishes at Sai Ngam Banyan Grove, where Thailand's largest sacred banyan tree grows.

Korat to Surin
Start at Daan Kwain village on the Moon River, spending time in pottery studios, museums, and shops that focus on earthenware and ceramics. From there, head up to Prasat Phnom Rung, a Khmer temple complex positioned on a hilltop with a monumental staircase you can climb. Prasat Muang Tham comes next, another Khmer site with well-preserved bas reliefs showing scenes from old stories. After lunch, you'll travel into Surin province to see Prasat Hin Sikhoraphum, which has five prangs and represents another layer of Khmer architectural skill in the region.

Surin to Bangkok
Beginning in Si Saket, you'll see Khmer ruins including Prasat Wat Sa Kamphaeng Yai (an 11th-century temple) and Prasat Wat Sa Kamphaeng Noi with its laterite stupa and lotus pond. Then you'll drive to Ubon Ratchathani, one of Isan's major cities, where lunch happens. After that, Ban Pa Ao village shows you artisans working on bronzeware and handwoven silk. The Ban Kan Lueang archaeological site holds 2,000-year-old artifacts worth seeing. You'll finish the day with a transfer to Ubon Ratchathani Airport for your evening flight back to Bangkok.
