Itinerary
- Day 1
New York to Niagara Falls
Starting from New York City, you'll head north through the Delaware River Water Gap and make your way to Watkins Glen State Park for a hike through the canyon. The trail takes you past natural waterfalls, though if you're traveling during winter months, Montour Falls becomes the stop instead. From there, continue past Seneca Lake toward Niagara Falls, arriving in the afternoon. Once you get there, spend time on the American side checking out American Falls, Goat Island, and Luna Island. By evening, the falls light up with colored illumination, which is worth staying to see.

- Day 2
Niagara Falls to New York
This morning starts at the observation deck overlooking Horseshoe Falls. If it's between May and October, you can board the Maid of the Mist boat tour to get right up close to the falls themselves. During the winter months through April, the Power Vista hydroelectric station and Cave of the Winds are open instead. After you've spent the morning there, you'll head back toward New York in the afternoon with a shopping break at one of the large outlet malls in the area. You'll arrive back in New York around dusk.
