Boston
You'll arrive in Boston this afternoon. Your tour director will be available later to answer questions about the week ahead and help you settle in.
- Day 2
Boston to Bar Harbor
Head north into Maine's coastal region, stopping in Portland for a city tour of the Old Port waterfront with its cobblestone streets and working fishing wharves. Continue northeast to Bar Harbor, a seaside resort town and gateway to Acadia National Park. This evening you'll have a lobster bake with steamed mussels, Maine lobster, and corn on the cob.

Bar Harbor
Spend the day in Acadia National Park with a scenic drive past beaver lodges, rocky beaches, and rounded mountains. You'll take the mountain road up Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the Atlantic Coast. The afternoon is yours to explore Bar Harbor's village, walk the Shore Path, take a nature cruise, or check out shops and galleries.

Bar Harbor to Newry
Drive through inland Maine past farmland, blueberry barrens, and forests with fall colors. Stop in Farmington to learn about small-town New England hospitality and the area's settlement by American Revolution veterans. Head to Sunday River Resort in the afternoon for the night.

Newry to Burlington
Travel through New Hampshire's Kancamagus Scenic Byway, a 34-mile route without homes or service stations that's popular for fall foliage. Pass through White Mountain National Forest and Franconia Notch. Later, visit Vermont's oldest sugarhouse in Montpelier before ending the day in Burlington on Lake Champlain's shores.

Stowe to Brattleboro
Start in Woodstock with its village green that feels like 19th-century New England. You'll explore Billings Farm & Museum, a working dairy farm and living history site. Stop at Quechee Gorge State Park to see the scenic gorge, then visit the Vermont Country Store in Rockingham before heading to Brattleboro for the night.

Brattleboro to Hyannis
Drive across Massachusetts and cross the Cape Cod Canal to reach Hyannis on Cape Cod. This 'All-American City' is home to the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum, restaurants, and shops. You'll have time to walk around and get familiar with the area.

Hyannis to Provincetown and Return
Head to Provincetown, where the Mayflower Pilgrims first landed in 1620. Walk MacMillan Pier with its fishing boats and craft shacks, browse shops on Commercial Street, and grab a lobster roll, Portuguese pastry, or clam chowder. Return to Hyannis later, where the rest of your time is free to do what you'd like.

Hyannis to Boston
Depart for Boston this morning. After you arrive, you'll have a guided tour of the city's landmarks. You'll see Freedom Trail sights including Boston Common, Old State House, Old North Church where lanterns were hung during Paul Revere's ride, and Faneuil Hall with time to browse Quincy Market.
