- Day 1
Kilimanjaro Airport/Arusha to Moshi
Your driver meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport with a sign bearing your name, then transfers you to Springlands Hotel in Moshi. Once you've settled in, there's a welcome meal waiting along with a pre-safari briefing from experienced coordinators who'll walk you through what to expect during your mountain expedition.

Shira Gate to Shira Camp
After breakfast and a guide briefing, you'll drive from Moshi to Londorossi National Park Gate for registration. From there, continue to Shira Gate at 2,787m/9,144ft where your trek officially starts. The initial hike takes you through rainforest on a winding muddy trail, so bring gaiters and trekking poles since conditions tend to be wet. You'll stop for lunch partway through, then reach Shira Camp in the afternoon where you can unpack, rest, and have some tea or coffee.

Landmarks Shira Gate Shira Camp - Day 3
Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
This is the toughest day yet. You'll trek eastward through semi-desert and rocky terrain around Lava Tower, climbing to 4,600m/15,092ft over roughly 5 hours. Lunch happens at a designated stop, then it's the rocky scree path up to Lava Tower itself. Altitude symptoms like breathlessness and headaches may start showing up for some climbers. After that, you descend about 660m/2,165ft over approximately 2 hours down to Barranco Camp at 3,940m/12,926ft, positioned in a valley below the Breach Wall with memorable sunset views.

- Day 4
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
After breakfast, hike up the Barranco Wall from 3,940m/12,926ft to 4,200m/13,780ft, which takes around an hour. The day continues with multiple ascents and descents as you work toward Karanga Camp at 4,035m/13,238ft. In the afternoon, you'll do an acclimatization hike to help your body adjust to the altitude.

Landmarks Barranco Wall Karanga Camp - Day 5
Karanga Camp Acclimatization
Following breakfast, take an acclimatization hike heading toward Barafu Camp at 4,670m/15,322ft, then return to Karanga Camp at 4,035m/13,238ft for dinner and the night. This type of day significantly improves your acclimatization and really boosts your chances of reaching the summit successfully.

Landmarks Barafu Camp - Day 6
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Hike up to Barafu Camp at 4,670m/15,322ft, pitched on a narrow stony ridge that's totally exposed to wind and gales. Spend time getting familiar with the terrain before dark so you avoid accidents. Check your equipment including ski sticks, thermal clothing, headlamp with fresh batteries, camera batteries with spares, and a thermal flask for water. Head to bed around 7pm to grab precious rest before your summit attempt, aiming for no more than 5 hours of sleep.

Landmarks Barafu Camp - Day 7
Summit Attempt and Descent to Mweka Camp
You'll rise around 11:30pm. After tea and biscuits, start your summit push heading northwesterly through heavy scree toward Stella Point on the crater rim, a 6 hour walk that's often the toughest part both mentally and physically. Reach Stella Point at 5,759m/18,891ft for a short rest and to watch the sunrise if weather allows. From there, ascend through snow to Uhuru Peak over about 2 hours. Celebrate at the summit, then descend roughly 3 hours back to Barafu Camp. After a quick rest and packing your gear, head down to Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight.

Mweka Camp to Springlands Hotel
After breakfast, continue down from Mweka Gate through Mweka village, normally a muddy 1 hour walk. Then drive to Springlands Hotel where you'll have a hot lunch and take a well deserved hot shower. You'll spend the night at Springlands Hotel. Successful climbers receive summit certificates here: green ones for Stella Point, gold ones for Uhuru Peak.

Departure
