Sarajevo
After arriving in Sarajevo, you'll have time to walk through the city and take in its layered history. Start at the Konjic bridge, then head to the Tunnel of Hope museum to learn about the wartime period. From there, wander through the UNESCO-listed old town with its narrow streets and traditional architecture. Before checking in, see the cathedral with its distinctive design. This gives you a solid introduction to the city before settling in for the night.

Sarajevo to Visegrad
You'll travel from Sarajevo to Visegrad today, but first ride the funicular for views over the capital. Once in Visegrad, check out the Mehmed Pasha Sokolovic Bridge, a UNESCO site that's been here for centuries and frames the town beautifully. Then explore Kamengrad fortress on the hillside overlooking the Drina River. The medieval fortress and bridge together give this place its character, and you'll spend the evening there.

Visegrad to Zlatibor
Head south to Zlatibor today. The main event here is riding the Sargan Eight Railroad, a narrow-gauge heritage line that winds through the mountains with sharp curves and great views. It's a short but unique journey through forested terrain. After the train ride, you'll settle into your accommodation in Zlatibor for the night.

Zlatibor
This day in Zlatibor keeps you moving with several stops. Start underground at Stopica cave, then visit Sirogojno, a village that preserves traditional crafts and architecture. Later you'll see Gostilje waterfall, where water cascades down into pools. If you want some action, try the zipline course at Ljubis for views and adrenaline. Head back to town by evening with plenty to process from the day.

Zlatibor to Pozarevac
Travel east to Pozarevac and the surrounding region. In Topola, you'll see the Holy Martyr George Church with its ornate design, then visit a local winery to taste and learn how Serbian wines are made. The region has been producing wine for generations, and the visit gives context to the traditions. Overnight here in Pozarevac.

Pozarevac
From Pozarevac, you'll explore the Danube Valley and its medieval fortifications. Golubac fortress sits on a bend in the river with impressive stone walls and towers. Pozarevac to Belgrade

Belgrade
Spend the day in Belgrade exploring the layers of the city. Walk through the historical center where architecture from different periods sits side by side. Then head to Kalemegdan fortress overlooking where the Danube and Sava rivers meet, giving you perspective on the city's geography and importance.

Belgrade to Novi Sad
Travel north to Novi Sad along the Danube. Wander through the historical center with its Central European feel, then visit both the Orthodox and Catholic churches that reflect the city's diverse heritage. Climb up to Petrovaradin fortress for views across the river and the surrounding area. The fortress overlooks the city, and on clear days you can see quite far along the valley.

Novi Sad to Sremska Mitrovica
Visit Sremski Karlovci, known for baroque architecture and local wine culture. The historical center has character with its old buildings and squares. After exploring, head to Krusedol monastery in quieter surroundings away from town. Then continue to Sremska Mitrovica for the overnight stay.

Sremska Mitrovica to Belgrade
