- Day 1
Halifax
You'll arrive in Halifax and find your Tour Director waiting in the lobby from 3 to 6pm if questions come up. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. The Halifax Waterfront is worth checking out, a 4 km (2.5 miles) boardwalk that's one of the longest urban stretches around, lined with shops and restaurants for browsing.

Halifax to Saint John
Head out from Halifax toward Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy shores, where you'll encounter the world's highest tides rising and falling up to 52 feet. Before moving on to Saint John for a two-night stay, you'll pass through Fundy National Park to take in the landscape.

Saint John
Travel south to St. Andrews-by-the-Sea for an orientation of this charming seaside spot. The historic downtown has quaint shops and Market Square to wander through, or if gardens interest you, Kingsbrae Gardens ranks among Canada's top ten public gardens. On your way back to Saint John, stop at Reversing Falls to see the tidal phenomenon happen. An optional whale-watching and wildlife cruise is also available if you're interested.

Saint John to Charlottetown
Before leaving Saint John, check out the historic Saint John City Market, Canada's oldest farmer's market from the 1870s. Later, you'll drive across the 8-mile-long Confederation Bridge, Canada's longest bridge, to reach Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island. Your evening is free to relax, though an optional lobster supper can be arranged if you'd like.

Charlottetown
A Local Guide will lead you around Prince Edward Island to see the sandy beaches and wind-swept dunes of Prince Edward Island National Park. You'll stop at North Rustico, a seaside port where you can learn about the island's lobster industry, then visit Green Gables Heritage Place where the Anne of Green Gables novels are set. The afternoon opens up for you to explore more on your own.

Charlottetown to Baddeck
You'll board a ferry to cross Northumberland Strait back to Nova Scotia, landing in Baddeck on the shores of Bras d'Or Lake. This is the gateway to the Cabot Trail. At the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, exhibits show the inventor's work and achievements throughout his life.

Baddeck
Today you'll travel the Cabot Trail, a famous scenic highway with panoramic views of rugged cliffs, deep valleys, forested slopes, and the North Atlantic and Gulf of St. Lawrence coastlines. You'll enter Cape Breton Highlands National Park, where the landscape has similarities to Scottish coastal regions. Back in Baddeck by evening, the night is yours to spend freely.

Baddeck to Halifax
Leave Baddeck and drive back to Halifax for a city tour covering the Public Gardens, Canadian Forces Base (the country's largest military installation and home of the Royal Canadian Navy Atlantic Fleet), and Fairview Lawn Cemetery where over one hundred Titanic victims are buried. After the tour, the rest of your day is open.

Halifax
Start with a visit to Peggy's Cove and its historic lighthouse, the most photographed lighthouse in Canada. Stop at Acadian Maple Products to see how pure Nova Scotia maple syrup is made and learn its history. Continue to Lunenburg, one of only two North American urban communities designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can walk the colorful streets. The Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic shows the region's fishing heritage and coastal traditions.
