Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Salt Lake City to Hill Air Force Base

    Start your adventure in Salt Lake City by checking out Temple Square and the Beehive House, then head to the Utah State Capitol. After that, you'll drive out to see the Great Salt Lake before continuing north to Hill Air Force Base and crossing into Idaho. This gives you a solid introduction to the region before things get more intensive over the next few days.

  2. Day 2

    Idaho Falls to Yellowstone to West Yellowstone

    Travel through Idaho Falls and enter Yellowstone National Park. Once you're in, you'll walk through the Lower and Midway Geyser Basins and see Old Faithful do its thing. The Upper Geyser Basin Pool Trail offers a good hike if you want to stretch your legs, and later you'll visit Yellowstone Lake and the Grand Canyon area with its Upper and Lower Falls. By evening, you'll be settled in West Yellowstone.

  3. Day 3

    Yellowstone National Park

    Spend the day exploring more of Yellowstone. You'll check out Norris Geyser Basin, see Volcanic Pillar Cliff, and take in Mammoth Hot Springs. From there, head through Roosevelt Arch and spend some time watching wildlife at Lamar Valley. Before wrapping up, stop at Lower Falls Overlook for the views. There's a lot of ground to cover, so plan for driving between each spot.

  4. Day 4

    Yellowstone to Grand Teton National Park to Salt Lake City

    Leave Yellowstone and head south into Grand Teton National Park. You'll see the Grand Tetons Mountain Range, and keep an eye out for wildlife around the lakes and along the scenic routes. Visit Antler Park and then stop by Jackson Hole, a nice town with galleries and restaurants if you want to grab lunch. After that, it's the drive back to Salt Lake City, which gives you time to reflect on what you've seen over the past few days.
