- BCBJ· April 2nd, 2024WOW, Alaska! You are stunning! From the morning of Day 1 - I knew I was in good hands. You can always tell how the guide greets you and how the first morning meeting goes. I felt heard and supported - and knew I picked the right company and tour. We had a group of 10, from 4 different countries - and almost everyone's first time to Alaska. We visited in late August - so I have heard the mosquitos aren't as bad then - so that was good! Likewise, we even started to see fall colors poke out along the drive down to Seward - really beautiful. Such a different landscape coming from Florida, where I live. I chose this tour because it had a lot of inclusions with activities - but also some free time to check out town - Seward is really cute! Our guide, Joe, was really friendly, fun and knowledgeable to the area. Such great commentary along the way and all throughout for 4 days. My favorite day though was when we did the boat tour out to the glacier, and we saw a Humpback Whale Breach!! So cool to see in the wild - and not often do you get to see that. Thank you for making meals that were fresh, tasty and healthy - and using local ingredients like sea salt from the bay. Truly an enjoyable experience - the camping was fun, too! Tents that keep you dry are always a plus!Show moreBindlestiff Tours commented on this reviewThank you so much for taking the time to submit your review. We appreciate that you chose Bindlestiff for your Alaskan adventure. Glad you had a great time with Joe and we look forward to seeing you on another tour soon!Trip date: March 2024
- CWChris· April 1st, 2024All Inclusive Kenai Adventure Ever since Covid - and the expansive interest to visit NP's - I have resorted to group travel. I find it to be more rewarding and sustainable. I love the idea of education and leaving less of a carbon footprint by shuttling together. This is my first time traveling with Bindlestiff - it seems they have quite the following! So I gave it a shot. Really glad I did - the description of this tour was exactly how it went! Lots of great included meals, free time in town, optional visit to the Sea Life center, hike to Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords NP, Kayak tour and boat tour. And we had a fun dinner out in Seward - lots of characters in this town! Going to a new environment like this, coming from the East Coast USA - I definitely wanted a guide. I also was looking to have a group of people to travel with, so this was awesome. So happy that we had a fun, lively guide du jour as well - Charlie. You can really tell this tour company puts in the effort to make things seamless - from detailed packing list, reminders, booking procedure, emails with questions responded to in a timely fashion (thanks, Mario!), and of course the organization behind it all. Thank you so much, Charlie and Bindlestiff, for giving me a fantastic 1st experience in Alaska - and visiting a truly spectacular region of the USA.Show moreBindlestiff Tours commented on this reviewThank you so much for your review and your kind words on our team! - TMToni· March 31st, 2024Alaska Tour- WOW! Myself and my ""new"" husband (we are on our honeymoon) - spent 1 month in Alaska - so we decided to do some independent travel, a group tour and some backcountry hiking. This was the last leg of our adventure - and it was really fun!! We loved the drive down from Anchorage - wow, so beautiful! Our guide gave great commentary - and we made lots of fun picture stops along the way and had sandwiches by a pretty waterfall. We have never done much group travel, so it was really nice for someone else to take the reigns and handle the details - we just showed up with our backpacks - and listened to the packing list. So many activities in 4 days - and all well organized. Weather (as I am sure everyone knows) in AK can be wild - so just being patient and easy going is the key to success. We had fun at camp - great location. Great camping equipment - tent durability and good sleeping mats. Making group meals in the wind is challenging - but definitely adds to the adventure. We had fun travel mates too - from Asia and Canada. Great group - and our guide, Marie, was hilarious. Fantastic explanations of the glaciation and mountain formations - and we had awesome local guides too on the boat ride and Kayak tour. We will definitely travel with this tour agency again - maybe next time in Canada - since they do tours there also! Thank you, Bindlestiff!Show moreBindlestiff Tours commented on this reviewThank you for your review we appreciate that you took the time to write it. - BSBen· March 26th, 2024The Final Frontier - Best Tour EVER!!! I have traveled with Bindlesitff before - in the lower 48 - visiting the Utah NP's and Grand Canyon. So cool to see them expanding! Once I saw Alaska tours on the site - I knew I had to come back and travel with them again. This tour is short - but it really includes a lot - and you see a lot. I loved the idea to stay in one location for 4 days - and the camp location they have is great! Happy I listened to the packing list and had my gortex rain gear - this helps, since Alaska weather is crazy at times. The camp meals were fun to cook - and looking out at the bay is fantastic, otters swim right up the shore as you are cooking - so cute! The scenic boat tour was great - we saw whales, glaciers, puffins (my fave) and had a ""glacierita"" - that's a margarita made from the glacier ice! The town is really cute - and Alaska surprisingly had amazing coffee! Thank you to Bindlestiff and our guide, Marie - really fantastic.Show moreBindlestiff Tours commented on this reviewThank you for your review we appreciate that you took the time to write it. - ASAlyssa· March 25th, 2024Amazing experience with Bindlestiff Tours! WOW - so much daylight! Especially in June!! We were a party of 4 - mom, dad and kids (teenage) traveling from Minnesota. This was our first trip to Alaska - and one of the first ""group"" trips we did in this style with the kids. We enjoyed integrating our kids into this way of travel, along with other travelers, in such a beautiful nature settings. It was really a hit - our kids LOVED the guide (Joe) - he was young (20's) and energetic and kept them entertained, and they loved helping with daily tasks around camp. About the tour - really inclusive and packs a big punch for 4 days! The daylight into midnight was really wild - we are happy we listened to the great packing list Bindlestiff provided (telling us to bring eye masks) - they really help! This tour company is awesome. They know what they are doing, and we always felt prepared from day 1 meeting the group and guide. Tons of sites on this tour - but our favorite was hiking to the Harding Icefield on day 1. We had good weather and had a clear shot of EXIT glacier - and even hiked in a little bit of snow! A big thank you to our guide and Bindlestiff for the organization and effort that goes into these trips. We are thinking about coming back next year for the 11-day Interior AK tour - it looks great!Show moreBindlestiff Tours commented on this reviewThank you for taking the time to leave a review on your tour. - CMCate· March 24th, 2024Best Alaska Seward tour! We enjoyed this 4-day tour with Bindlestiff - out on the Kenai Peninsula. This tour has everything from hiking, kayaking, boat rides - and of course visiting the cool town of Seward. Our camp spot was great - overlooking Resurrection Bay. We lucked out with great weather - and just a little bit of rain. Our guide was awesome!! She knew all the spots for great photos, pull-outs for lunch stops, the most delicious coffee shops in town - and how to deal with the unruly mosquitos you hear about in AK (this is a real thing). This is our 3rd trip to Alaska - checking off a new corner every time we visit, such a HUGE and stunning state! So much to see! We are so happy that we decided to camp, and stay in one location for 4 days. This tour was perfect! Bindlestiff really does a great job - balancing free time, included activities, meals (fun to cook at camp!) and eating out along with optional activities. We will definitely be back to Alaska - and we will definitely travel with Bindlesitff again.Show moreBindlestiff Tours commented on this reviewThank you for taking the time to write a review on your tour, we are glad you had an amazing time.
