Itinerary
- Day 1YerevanYour first day in Yerevan sets the stage with a panoramic tour hitting the main sights. Start at Victory Park where you'll get sweeping views across the city and toward Mount Ararat in the distance. From there, head to the Cascade Complex to walk around its sculptures and grab coffee at one of the cafes. You'll then check out the Matenadaran manuscript repository before visiting the State Opera House and Northern Avenue. Republic Square comes next, the actual center of the capital, and the day wraps up with a walk through Kond, a historic neighborhood with tight streets and older architecture from before the Soviet era. - Meals

- Day 2YerevanThis day focuses on Armenia's spiritual side starting with Ejmiatsin Cathedral, recognized as the world's first Christian church. The museum there holds important religious items like the Holy Spear and pieces connected to Noah's Ark. After lunch with traditional Armenian food at an ethnographic center, you'll see the Memorial of Sardarapat where a museum is housed in a building designed like Medieval Armenian fortifications. Then stop at the ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral from the 7th century before heading back to Yerevan for an evening to relax and catch cultural events if interested. - Meals

- Day 3GorisThe day combines history and wine starting at Khor Virap Monastery, which holds significance in Armenia's Christian conversion and offers Mount Ararat views. Next, tour the Old Areni Factory, a major Armenian winery, where you can watch wine production happen. Areni Cave comes after that, home to the oldest winery ever found at 6,100 years old. You'll visit Noravank Monastery and have lunch at a gastro yard where there's a chance to make fruit desserts. A stop at Spandaryan Reservoir gives good photo spots before heading to Goris for dinner. - Meals

- Day 4Hermon VillageBegin exploring Khndzoresk, a historic village where residents lived in natural and man-made caves and defended the area through multiple wars until recently. Walk across the swinging bridge spanning the canyon that connects the old village to the new section. Lunch happens at a restaurant with Tatev Monastery views overlooking the gorge. After eating, visit the monastery itself and take the cable car ride over the deep Vorotan river canyon. Shaqi waterfall is next before reaching Hermon Village, and if weather cooperates, you'll see a clear night sky with the Milky Way visible. - Meals

- Day 5DilijanAfter a rural breakfast, you're heading back in time along the old Silk Road routes. The 13th-century Selim Caravanserai offers panoramic mountain pass views. Stop at a historical village famous for its massive khachkar collection and visit a family cheese farm to taste locally aged varieties. Then drive along Lake Sevan, one of the world's highest freshwater lakes sitting around 2,000 meters up, and have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the water. Finish in Dilijan, sometimes called Armenia's 'little Switzerland', where you'll explore national parks and Old Dilijan Complex with its wooden balconies and shops run by local artisans. - Meals

- Day 6Dsegh VillageThe Lori region is the focus today with UNESCO world heritage churches in scenic settings. You'll see two old monasteries: Aghtala and Haghpat, both showing different periods of Armenia's history. Dsegh village comes next, known for nice nature, friendly locals, and cultural sites worth seeing. Lunch happens at a local restaurant where the chef shows how traditional Armenian dishes get prepared and cooked. - Meals

- Day 7GyumriTravel to Gyumri, Armenia's second-largest city and known as the creative hub, recognized for its black-and-apricot colored architecture, pottery workshops, and local cafes. You'll join several craft classes to try hands-on work with local traditions. The day includes learning about one of Armenia's most significant historical events and how it shaped the country. Later, visit Marmashen Monastery positioned dramatically over the Akhurian River with views toward the Armenian-Turkish border. - Meals

- Day 8YerevanOn the way back to Yerevan, several stops break up the journey. Start at Gntuniq supermarket and bakery to watch bread baking in old-style ovens and breathe in fresh bread smells. Saghmosavank Monastery is next, sitting in a spectacular canyon setting. You'll then see a unique cemetery where the alphabet letters themselves are made from gravestones. The fortress of Amberd shows how Armenian ancestors lived and protected their homes through history. By evening, you'll be back in Yerevan. - Meals

- Day 9YerevanYour last full day explores two different faiths in Armenia. The Temple of Garni represents the pagan side while Geghard Monastery shows a different approach with its rock construction and architectural techniques. The Azat Reservoir and the Arch of Charents are nearby. Back in Yerevan, tour the Ararat Brandy Company to see its museum and production area. End with a farewell dinner celebrating the end of the trip. - Meals
