Bucharest
Start your time in Bucharest by wandering through the city at your own pace. You'll find trendy shops and cafés scattered throughout, and there are museums worth checking out. Take a walk down Victory Avenue to see the beautiful homes and churches that line the street. This is a good day to get your bearings and soak in the local atmosphere.

- Day 2
Bucharest to Brașov
Head out early for the drive into the Carpathian Mountains toward Sinaia. You'll stop at Peles Castle, which sits nestled in the mountain scenery. Grab lunch at a local spot along the way, then continue on to Bras ov where you'll spend the night. The drive takes several hours, so you'll have time to settle in and rest.

Brașov
This morning starts with a guided tour of Bras ov that covers the main sights around the city. After that, you have free time to walk around and explore on your own. Later in the evening, head out to Bran Castle for a guided tour, then return for dinner. You'll get a good sense of the region's history and architecture through the day.

Brașov to Oltenita
Join a guided excursion through Bucharest to see Royal Palace Square and the historical sites from 1989. After touring around the city, head to Oltenita this afternoon to board your Avalon Suite Ship. Once settled, have dinner on board, and later attend an onboard lecture about the Danube Delta to learn what's ahead.

Cernavodă to Rousse
You have choices today. Join a guided tour to Constan ta on the Black Sea coast and visit the Natural History and Archeological Museum, or head to a local winery instead to learn about traditional Romanian wines and do a tasting. By evening, the ship sets sail for Rousse, so you'll have time back on board before departure.

Rousse to Vidin
Multiple activities are on offer today. Take a park walk with your Adventure Host, or join a guided tour of Rousse that includes Holy Trinity Church. If you want something more involved, there's a full-day guided excursion to Veliko Tarnovo to see the ancient stone architecture and the historic town of Arbanassi. This evening, cruise on to Vidin.

Donji Milanovac to Belgrade
The ship sails through the Iron Gates Gorge, which is a highlight of this route. You can take a walk with your Adventure Host or join a guided tour to Lepenski Vir, an important Mesolithic archaeological site from thousands of years ago. Later, visit the Fortress of Golubac, a well-preserved medieval structure. After that, cruise overnight to Belgrade.

There's also an optional biking tour if you want to cover more ground, or just walk Knez Mihailova Street on your own. This evening, attend an onboard lecture about Balkan history and culture.

Mohács to Budapest
Choose between a guided tour of Moh acs and the medieval St. Nicholas Watermill, or head to P cs instead to see 4th-century Christian underground tombs that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and hear an organ concert. After your morning activity, the ship cruises south to Budapest in the afternoon.
