Bucharest
You'll spend the day exploring Bucharest on your own pace. The city has plenty to see if you want to check it out, from trendy shops and cafes to museums and churches. Walking along Victory Avenue is nice, and you can browse through the different neighborhoods at whatever speed suits you.

Bucharest to Brasov
This morning you'll head into the Carpathians toward Sinaia. First stop is Cantacuzino Castle, then you'll tour Peles Castle. After grabbing a local lunch, the group continues on to Brasov for the night, so you'll have time to settle in before dinner.

Brasov
A guided tour of Brasov gets the day started, showing you the main sights and layout of the town. You'll have the afternoon free to walk around on your own and explore whatever catches your interest. Later on, you're headed to Bran Castle for the evening tour before heading back for dinner.

Brasov to Rousse
You'll start with a guided tour through Bucharest, visiting Royal Palace Square where significant events happened in 1989. After that, you head to Oltenita to board your cruise ship. The evening sets off with a sail toward Rousse, so you'll get settled into your suite and meet the other passengers.

Rousse to Svistov
Rousse gives you several options to choose from. You could join a bike tour with the Adventure Host, take a guided sightseeing tour of Holy Trinity Church and the rock-hewn churches near Ivanovo, or go on a full-day excursion to Veliko Tarnovo. Later, the ship continues its cruise to either Svistov or Vidin, depending on the itinerary.

Iron Gates to Belgrade
The ship sails through the Iron Gates Gorge, which forms a natural border between Serbia and Romania. You'll take a guided tour to Lepenski Vir, an important archaeological site with discoveries from the Mesolithic period. Then you head to Golubac Fortress, one of Europe's better-preserved medieval fortresses. Evening brings the cruise to Belgrade.

If you're interested, there's an optional bike tour, or you can spend free time on Knez Mihailova Street with its cafes and shops. An onboard lecture about Balkan history happens before the evening cruise to Novi Sad.

You can either walk up through narrow streets to Petrovaradin Fortress or experience Serbian beekeeping and wine tasting at a local museum and wine cellar in nearby Sremski Karlovci. The ship continues to Ilok after dinner.
