Horezu Monastery and Polovragi Cave
Your day starts at Horezu Monastery, where you'll see authentic Romanian architecture and check out the traditional ceramics the area is known for. The monastery's on UNESCO's list, so there's real historical significance to what you're looking at. After spending some time there, you'll head to Polovragi Cave. The cave system extends about 10 km underground with different chambers to walk through, including the Spring of Hope and the Divine Chamber. The underground formations are quite something, and you'll get to see what the galleries look like as you move through them.

Women's Cave and Constantin Brancusi Sculptural Ensemble
You'll spend your morning at Women's Cave, which is Romania's most-visited cave for a reason. Inside, there are remains from ancient civilizations and prehistoric animals, including calcified cave bear skeletons that give you a real sense of what lived there thousands of years ago. Later, you'll travel to Targu Jiu to see the Constantin Brancusi Sculptural Ensemble, a symbolic monument with four important sculptures. The Table of Silence, Gate of the Kiss, and Infinity Column are the pieces you'll want to spend time with, each one representing different artistic concepts.
