- GHgraham· August 11th, 2025Well organised trip at very short notice. The tour was exactly as described; our organiser Miss Sonia Handa checked in with us regularly. We enjoyed almost all the cities and hotels we visited. Our tiger safari in Ranthambore was washed out due to the monsoon so we appreciated her organising a leopard safari as an alternative. Our driver, Mr Rampal Singh stayed with us for the full itinerary and was excellent - a very safe driver, courteous and good company - Indian roads can be tricky to navigate. Hotels were all lovely, and we managed to see all the major attractions in the cities we visited. We had a wonderful driver in Rampal, a pleasant, warm and friendly soul who was just as eager to learn about our way of life as he was to share his country. Highlights for me were Korta Escape, Ranakpur Jain Temple, the opulent palaces and the safaris in Ranthambore and Jawai (seeing a leopard was amazing). Oh, and the food too! When weather impacted our flight to Varanasi, new arrangements were made with virtually no impact on us - we did t have to worry about a thing. Sonia checked in with us regularly to ensure we were happy and all was going well. Sonia accommodated our special requests into the itinerary and the trip went perfectly with no problems. Accommodations were great as were the day tour guides in each city. And a special mention of our driver Rampal who was a joy to travel with. Highlights were Udaipur, Korta (if you are interested in a country experience), the amazing temples and forts/palaces we saw. And of course the safaris. We have a much better understanding of life in India and gained much knowledge about the history, culture and religions of these amazing people. Highlights included a desert camp in Jaisalmer, a visit to an elephant sanctuary near Jaipur, walking through the spice market in Delhi, and experiencing Pushkar at sunset.
