Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar
The trek kicks off with a road journey from Kathmandu heading toward Dhap Bazaar, and you'll follow the Sunkoshi River trail the whole way. The route takes you through dense forests and terraced rice fields, with gushing rivers alongside the path. You'll pass through Ghurmi Village on the way, then spend time checking out Dhap Bazaar's markets once you arrive. This is a good opportunity to see the distinctive clothing worn by local Sherpa villages in the area.

Kerung to Jhapre Village
Starting from the Tibetan border village of Kerung, the trek heads to Jhapre Village with stops at Buddhist monasteries along the route. The landscape here is relatively untouched, and you'll see orchids growing wild throughout the forests. When you reach Jhapre, there's time to watch Tibetan Buddhist rituals being performed at the local monastery, which gives real insight into the spiritual practices of the region.

Jhapre to Pikey Base Camp
Today's trek goes to Pikey Base Camp, which sits as the second highest point on this trek. As you ascend the trail, you'll come across Mani stones, stupas, and old Buddhist monasteries, so there's quite a bit of cultural and religious significance along the way. The climb is gradual but steady throughout the day.

- Day 4
Pikey Base Camp to Pikey Peak and return to Jhapre
Early morning climb to Pikey Peak for panoramic views across the Himalayan Range, from Kanchenjunga to Dhaulagiri, and Mt. Everest shows clearly at 8,848m/29,029ft. The trail sometimes has yak grazing, and herders occasionally offer fresh yak milk if you want to try it. After spending time taking in the extensive views, you'll descend back to Pikey Peak Base Camp and trek down to Jhapre for the night.

Jhapre to Kathmandu
After breakfast, a jeep or bus ride takes you back to Kathmandu, wrapping up the trek. The journey back gives you time to reflect on what you've seen over the past days as the landscape changes from high altitude back to the valley floor.
