- Day 1
Keflavík to Reykjavík
You'll arrive at Keflavík International Airport and catch a shuttle bus heading to your hotel in Reykjavík. If time permits after getting settled, there's the evening ahead to wander around Iceland's capital and get a feel for the city on your own.

Reykjavík to Akureyri
Your guide meets you at 09:00, then you'll travel west along Hvalfjörður fjord with a stop in Borgarnes. There's an easy hike up Grábrók volcano crater surrounded by greenish lava fields, followed by a visit to the turf church of Víðiemýri. From there, you'll drive through fjord landscapes and mountain passes to reach Akureyri in North Iceland. By evening, you'll have time to check out the town.

Mývatn
Start the morning in Akureyri with panoramic views over Eyjafjörður fjord. If it's April through October, there's an optional whale watching tour available. Later in the afternoon, you'll see Goðafoss waterfall and then head to Lake Mývatn's geological features including Kálfaströnd lava formations, Skútustaðir pseudo craters, and Hverfjall tephra cone. End the day by relaxing in the geothermal Mývatn Nature Baths.

Mývatn to East Iceland
You'll walk through the lava labyrinth at Dimmuborgir, known locally as 'the dark castles,' with a chance to spot trolls from folklore. After that, you're heading to Námaskarð, the geothermal hot spring area with bubbling mud pools and steaming solfataras. The rest of the day takes you through uninhabited highlands toward East Iceland. From June through August, there's a detour to see the powerful Dettifoss waterfall.

East Iceland
You'll spend this day admiring the dramatic fjord landscape and tiny fishing villages tucked at the end of winding roads in the East Fjords. Along the route, there's a stop at an attractive stone and mineral collection. In the afternoon, you'll get views of Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier, which is visible across Southeast Iceland.

Southeast Iceland
Starting at Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, you'll see floating icebergs and possibly spot seals in the arctic waters. From May through September, there's a boat tour available among the icebergs, then you'll walk on Diamond Beach where large icebergs get stranded. Later, you'll drive along Vatnajökull glacier past Europe's second-largest national park. In the afternoon, you're traveling through the Eldhraun lava field and the sandy south coast with mountain cliffs, glaciers, and waterfalls. You'll explore the black lava beach at Reynisfjara, visit the 60-meter Skógafoss waterfall and Skógar folk museum featuring turf houses, then continue to the narrow Seljalandsfoss waterfall with a walking trail behind it.

South Iceland to Reykjavík
Today follows the Golden Circle route. You'll start at Friðheimar to learn about Icelandic horses and visit a geothermal greenhouse. Next comes the Geysir geothermal fields with hot springs and bubbling pools, where you'll watch Strokkur erupt every 5 to 7 minutes. Then you're heading to Gullfoss, the golden falls, a double waterfall dropping 32 meters into the Hvítá river. After that, Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. By evening, you'll return to Reykjavík with a short city tour highlighting the world's northernmost capital.

Blue Lagoon
You'll depart by bus through rough lava fields to reach the Blue Lagoon where you can relax in its geothermal water rich in minerals. The afternoon is free, so you can either explore Reykjavík on your own or take an optional spa treatment at the Blue Lagoon.

Reykjavík to Ilulissat, Greenland
An airport transfer takes you to Keflavík for a 3-hour flight to Ilulissat in Greenland. After transferring to your hotel, your local guide leads a walking tour through town where you'll see the local museum and the busy harbor showing Greenlandic life. Around 22:00, you'll head out for a sunset cruise (or midnight sun cruise May 22 through July 24) to the Ilulissat Icefiord, the world's largest ice sculpture park with constantly changing lights and colors. Refreshments are served on the rocks, and the tour lasts about 3 hours. A welcome dinner (2-course) is included at the hotel.

Ilulissat
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll take a bus to the end of the road, then join a guided 3-hour walking tour to the ancient Inuit settlement of Sermermiut on the UNESCO World Heritage Ilulissat Icefiord. This settlement 1.5 km south of town has been inhabited for 4,000 years. You'll see remains of ancient settlements and get views of majestic icebergs. After the hike, there's a home visit where locals share coffee and conversation, giving you insight into their isolated way of life.

Disko Bay
You'll sail south along the Ilulissat Icefiord admiring huge icebergs and watching local fishermen in their small boats. The day includes a visit to Ilimanaq settlement that still depends on hunting and fishing. You'll see wooden houses from the old Danish trading station at the pier dating back to 1730. After walking through the settlement, lunch comes at a small local restaurant serving Greenlandic specialties. On the return, you'll cruise Disko Bay to spot migrating whales before reaching Ilulissat. The whole tour takes about 6 hours.

Ilulissat to Eqi Glacier
After breakfast at the hotel, you're departing early on a full-day boat trip to Eqi, the calving glacier located 80 km north of Ilulissat. You'll get very close to the 5-km wide glacier front to experience huge pieces of ice breaking off into the water. The sound of an active calving glacier is remarkable. The tour lasts about 7 hours total.

Ilulissat to Reykjavík
You'll spend the morning in Ilulissat exploring the town and picking up last-minute Greenlandic souvenirs. Then you're flying back to Keflavík and staying two nights in Iceland's capital. Airport transfers are included for both the Greenland and Iceland portions.

Reykjavík
You'll depart by bus through rough lava fields to explore the magnificent Raufarhólshellir lava tunnel, one of Iceland's longest and best-known lava tubes. The tour takes about 3 hours with roughly 55 to 60 minutes spent inside the cave.
