Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Phakding
You'll catch a flight from Kathmandu heading into the Khumbu region, landing at a lower elevation to start acclimatizing your body. From there, you'll trek down to Phakding village, which sits in the Dudh Kosi river valley and serves as your base camp for the first night. This initial day keeps things relatively easy so you can adjust to the altitude and get a feel for the terrain ahead.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Your trek continues through the Dudh Kosi river valley with several suspension bridges to cross as you climb gradually higher. You'll pass through Jorsale before reaching Namche Bazaar, a busy trading hub where the views of Mount Everest start becoming visible. Before settling in for the night, park authorities will check your permit at the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, so have that ready.

- Day 3
Namche Bazaar to Pangboche
After leaving Namche, the trail takes you up to Tengboche where Ama Dablam and other major peaks come into view along the way. You'll spend time at the famous Tengboche Buddhist monastery to explore the spiritual side of the region, then continue on to Pangboche. Stop by the Gompa temple there before you settle down for the night in this quieter village.

Pangboche to Thukla
This day involves trekking up stone steps to get to Pheriche, a small settlement at higher altitude. From there, you'll continue on to Thukla where you'll spend the night. The main purpose here is acclimatization at the increased elevation, so the pace stays measured and you're not pushing too hard.

Thukla to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep
You'll trek up to Gorakshep and grab lunch there before making the final push to Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters. Once you arrive, you can walk around the base camp area, take in the Khumbu ice sheet and glacier formations, and meet fellow climbers and trekkers who are there. After spending some time soaking it all in, you'll head back down to Gorakshep to spend the night.

- Day 6
Gorakshep to Kalapathar to Pheriche
An early start gets you on the trail by sunrise for a 2-hour trek to Kalapathar, which sits at 5,550 meters. This is where professional photographers typically position themselves to capture Everest, and the views from up here are different from base camp. You'll see the mountain without obstructions and get a full perspective of the surrounding peaks. After descending back to Gorakshep for tea and a snack, you continue down to Pheriche for the evening.

Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
Starting with a short 30-minute trek to Tengboche, you'll then descend down to Phunkithanga before making your way back to Namche Bazaar. This day marks your return to a place with more amenities and connectivity, so it's a good time to celebrate reaching base camp and catch up with the outside world. Namche feels busier and more built-up compared to the higher villages, and you'll notice the difference right away.

- Day 8
Namche Bazaar to Lukla
A long trek back down to Lukla begins from Namche Bazaar, and while the distance is considerable, much of it is downhill which takes some pressure off your legs. You'll pass through level sections and leave Sagarmatha National Park behind as you descend. Lukla is your stopping point for the night before catching your flight back in the morning.

Lukla to Kathmandu
Your flight from Lukla to Kathmandu takes around 30 minutes and gives you aerial views of the Himalayan peaks as you head south. Landing in Kathmandu, your guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel, bringing your trek to a close.
