- Day 1
Moshi to Lemosho Trailhead
You'll leave Moshi early in the morning for a 4-hour drive to Londorossi Gate where you'll complete entry paperwork and formalities. After that, it's another hour to the Lemosho trailhead. Once you arrive, you'll grab lunch and then start hiking into the rainforest. The trail passes through thick vegetation and undisturbed forest as you head toward your first camp.

Lemosho Trailhead to Shira Ridge
The trail climbs out of the forest and opens into moorland with tall grasses, heather, and volcanic rock scattered around. You'll hike up through rolling hills, cross several streams along the way, and then reach Shira Ridge where you can see Kibo Peak in the distance. After that, you'll descend gently to Shira 1 camp for the evening.

Shira Plateau Acclimatization
This is your acclimatization day on the Shira Plateau. You'll take a gentle walk heading east with views of Kibo's glaciered peak ahead. From there, you'll continue across the plateau to Shira 2 camp on moorland meadows, and then move on to Moir Hut at the base of the Lent Hills. The walks around the Lent Hills help your body adjust to the altitude.

Shira Plateau to Barranco Hut
You'll ascend east from Shira Plateau along a ridge and pass the junction heading toward Kibo's peak. Then you'll turn southeast and hike toward Lava Tower, also called the Shark's Tooth. After passing the tower, you'll continue on to Arrow Glacier at 16,000 ft and then descend to Barranco Hut. Even though you end at roughly the same elevation you started at, this day matters for acclimatization.

Barranco Hut to Barafu Hut
After eating breakfast, you'll leave Barranco and climb a steep ridge past the Barranco Wall to reach Karanga Valley campsite. From there, you'll keep going to the junction with the Mweka Trail and then climb to Barafu Hut. By now you've completed the South Circuit and can see the summit from different angles. You'll have nice views of both Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, so use this evening to rest and prepare for summit day.

Barafu Hut to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Hut
You'll start between midnight and 2am for the trek's hardest part. The route goes northwest through heavy scree toward Stella Point on the crater rim. Once you reach Stella Point, you'll rest there and watch the sunrise if the weather cooperates. From there, it's about 1 hour to Uhuru Peak, Africa's highest point. After reaching the top, you'll descend back to Barafu for lunch, then continue down to Mweka Hut in the upper forest.

Mweka Hut to Moshi
You'll keep descending through the rainforest toward Mweka Park Gate where you'll receive your summit certificates. The path can be wet and muddy during this section. After leaving the gate, there's another hour's walk to Mweka Village where a vehicle will pick you up for the drive back to your hotel in Moshi.

Moshi to Serengeti National Park
A vehicle picks you up from your hotel around 6:30am for the drive to Serengeti National Park. You'll head to Serengeti Wildlife Lodge when you arrive and grab lunch there. In the afternoon, you'll take a game drive across the park's open plains. You might see Moru kopjes in the eastern section and large herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and various antelopes.

- Day 9
Serengeti National Park Full Day Safari
You'll spend the full day seeing wildlife in Serengeti. After breakfast, join a morning game drive on the Sogore River Circuit, which loops through plains south of the Seronera River where you can spot lions, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich and cheetahs. Stop at the Visitor Centre near Serengeti Seronera Lodge to check out wildlife displays and the gift shop. You'll have a picnic lunch under giant acacia trees, then take an afternoon drive around the Maasai Kopjes to look for lions and other animals.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Head out for a game drive from 6:30am to 9:30am to catch early morning activity from the big 5. You'll return for the main breakfast, then travel to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, stop at Olduvai Gorge, where important anthropological finds have been made including skulls of 'Nutcracker Man' and 'Handy Man'. Have lunch there while learning about evolution, then arrive at Ngorongoro in the late afternoon to explore the crater rim.

Landmarks/POIs Olduvai Gorge Ngorongoro Crater - Day 11
Ngorongoro Crater to Moshi
After breakfast, you'll descend over 600 meters into the crater for a half-day safari. You'll see herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippos and African elephants, plus predators like lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and leopards. Visit Lake Magadi in the southwestern corner where you can spot flamingos, hippos and water birds. You'll have a picnic lunch in the crater and continue with an afternoon game drive until 5:30pm. Then you'll head back up and drive to Moshi, arriving late in the evening for a hotel drop-off or airport transfer.
