- Michael· May 7th, 2025Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishSix countries in 23 days (minus at least 4 days for transfer, waiting and flight times) is "sporty". During Holy Week and at weekends, the sights are very busy. Morning queue for the bus up to Machu Picchu approx. 150m. In Rio, thanks to good planning and connections, the tour guide was able to completely avoid waiting times. The accommodation described as "basic" in the description: In the Bolivian highlands and Ecuador, electricity and hot water were only available at certain times or not at all. Dress warmly! Anyone in the group who had been spared the rampant flu virus up to that point was no longer spared after these nights. Even the first means of transportation in Bolivia had no heating, apart from a few blankets similar to a towel. The views in the highlands are impressive, but you have to put up with driving for hours on unpaved roads. This spoils the experience at the end of the day... What is really "annoying" are the flights via "codeshare". These are excluded from seat reservations in advance (especially the long flights to Quito or from Sao Paulo). Online check-in, if possible at all, is also useless. You always have to check in at the machines at the airports. On one occasion, it was only thanks to an attentive member of staff that our luggage was not sent to Rio 5 days before the end of our trip. The fact that you have to fly to Sao Paulo first on the day of your return is also not clear to the majority of travelers. So if you think that a vacation begins with the flight by reserving a seat early, you're wrong. 3.5 stars from me because of the stays in the big cities such as Santiago de Chile, La Paz and Rio. Would I do the trip again in this form? No.Show moreTrip date: April 2025
