Gerald D· September 23rd, 2025Overall, the experiences of Italy were awesome! The itinerary had great stops and sights to see and was pretty much what we expected from the tour. However, there was a lot of miscommunication, poor communication to no communication from the tour director and Tourradar. For example, we made a decision to arrive in Venice three days earlier than the start of the tour, booked rooms at the hotel that was named in the initial trip itinerary as the hotel the group would be staying at in Venice, and, at Tourradar's request, communicated this to Tourradar. At some point, the motel the group would be staying at changed. We were asked for our travel information so a transfer, courtesy of Tourradar, could be arranged from the train station in Venice to the hotel in Venice that we were going to be staying at. Apparently, probably due to the change in hotels that was never communicated prior to our arrival in Venice, the transfer never happened and the only explanation we received was that the only transfer Tourradar would provide would be from our initial hotel, the one initially listed in the travel itinerary, to the hotel the group was staying at. We had to pay out of pocket for a transfer from the train station to our hotel due to the miscommunication. Our final confirmed itinerary contained several errors such as: different hotels we would be staying at, which made it difficult to plan for things to do that would be close to the named hotels; the itinerary listed four (4) dinners, we only received three (3), some in the group had two dinners listed. Our tour director, MIguel didn't communicate well with the group about daily expectations. We had to continually ask him about what the next day held in terms of what time to meet and how long the named tours would be. The optional tours named in our initial itinerary, but not listed on our final itinerary, listed two tours that, per Miguel, he didn't like or felt was no good. He made the decisions on his own and without any input from his group to not do the Murano/Burano and the Capri excursions but didn't relay this to the group until the day before our free days which made it difficult for the group to make other arrangements for other tours. MIguel had previously confirmed with the group that at least 8 (the minimum we were informed needed before the tour director would arrange the tours) were interested in those tours! Fortunately for us and due to Tourradar's inablilty to confirm these tours would take place due to the participation limit, we booked our own excursions prior to our arriving in Italy and are very grateful to have done so! MIguel also didn't properly communicate a time change to depart to Solerno for our "boat ride" to Amalfi and Positano. We were initially told a couple of days earlier to meet in the hotel lobby at 8:45 am for departure to Solerno, but then he made the decision to meet at 8:30 am but only relayed this change to 5 members of the group. My wife and I arrived at 8:40 in the lobby thinking we were early only to be met with "let's go" and Miguel took off and left his group far behind as we walked to where the bus was parked. He was also easily influenced by one, not always the same one, group member who would make a suggestions as to a change in dinner time or meeting time and would then, without asking the group as a whole, institute that change. Miguel didn't seem like he wanted to be there with us. He never took the time to get to know the group to make the experience more interactive and enjoyable which is what we would expect in a tour director. These things may seem minor and inconsequential, but when someone plans a trip of this nature and spends the money involved with this type of trip. there is an expectation of communication at all levels about changes to hotels, time changes for meeting the group, and the tour director not inflecting his own thoughts and opinions about optional tours he didn't like or felt were not good without a proper explanation as to why he felt that way. We all should have been given the opportunity to make our own decisions regarding those tours. We wouldn't recommend Tourradar based on MIguels actions as a tour director.Show more

We’re delighted that you enjoyed the beauty of Italy and the overall itinerary, but we’re truly sorry for the miscommunications and service issues you described. Hotel changes, transfer... - AJoseph J.· November 21st, 2024It was a fantastic experience! Everything—hotels, care line, and transfers—went smoothly. Two things that is useful to know: 1) Do not expect the same quality 4* hotels in the US, the cities in italy are very old. 2) The trips were overly lengthy given the heat and the small children.Show moreTrip date: March 2023Review collected by Eskapas

- ARose K.· November 21st, 2024For me, this was the most enjoyable part of a lengthy tour. Everyone got along great right away despite their great diversity. Giula led the tour expertly, making sure that everyone of us achieved our goals. The best part was sipping wine as the sun sank over Venice. The only thing I could think of to improve the plan would be to have a mandatory stop in Pisa instead of making it an optional one. Would without a doubt suggest to a friend.Show moreTrip date: April 2023Review collected by Eskapas

- AHazel J.· November 21st, 2024This was such a fantastic tour! The places and activities were quite fun, and our guide was very knowledgeable. However, given the cost, I believe that some of the accommodations should have been better. In any case, it's definitely something to consider for your vacation to Italy!Show moreTrip date: September 2024Review collected by Eskapas
