Itinerary
- Day 1
Kota Kinabalu
You'll land in Kota Kinabalu and meet your driver guide at the airport. If your flight gets in early, there's time for a quick city tour that passes by Sabah State Mosque, Tun Mustapha Tower, and Kota Kinabalu City Mosque, with stops for photos whenever you'd like.

Kota Kinabalu
Head to Kinabalu National Park, Malaysia's first UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a full day of hiking with a park guide. You'll walk the canopy walkway to experience crossing treetops, then spend time exploring the park's 4,500+ species of flora and fauna before heading back to your hotel.

Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan
After breakfast, you'll fly to Sandakan for around 45 minutes. Your driver guide picks you up and drives about 30 minutes to Sepilok Jungle Resort. Once you check in, the rest of the day is yours to settle in, and dinner is served at the hotel.

Sepilok to Sukau Village
Start at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center, then hike through Borneo's tropical lowland forest to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Later, you'll take a 1-hour boat ride to Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary for lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. After that, continue by boat to Sukau Village, check into a riverside lodge, and take a Menanggul River Cruise to look for Borneo's BIG 5 wildlife.

Sukau Village
You can join an optional early boat trip to Ox-Bow Lake to search for wildlife on the Kinabatangan River. After breakfast, the morning is free to relax or take a walk around the area. In the afternoon, a guided cruise gets you out on the water to spot wild animals, particularly proboscis monkeys and other primates.

Sukau Village to Danum Valley
Leave Sukau Village and drive about 2 hours to Lahad Datu for a short break, then another 2 hours to Danum Valley. After checking in, you'll attend a hotel lecture about the area, then join a professional guide for a rainforest adventure that includes a 360-meter-long, 28-meter-high canopy walkway. If weather cooperates, an open-air truck takes you out for night wildlife spotting.

Danum Valley
You'll trek 4 to 5 kilometers through Danum Valley's forests and grasslands, passing wild animals, plants, and aboriginal cultural relics. The route includes a stop at the Kadazan-Dusun Burial Site where you can see hanging coffins on cliffs, then reaches a viewing platform 300 meters above sea level with views over the valley's unique terrain. Back at the hotel for dinner, and optional night wildlife spotting available if weather allows.

Danum Valley to Kota Kinabalu
Your driver takes you by car for 2 hours to Lahad Datu Airport. From there, you'll fly to Kota Kinabalu for 1 hour, then transfer to your hotel near Dalit Beach for two nights to rest and recover from rainforest trekking.

Dalit Beach
This day is free for relaxing on Dalit Beach. If you want more wildlife exploration, you can arrange your own jungle walk at the nearby Rasa Ria Reserve.
