Overall, this was an incredible experience, and I don’t think I would do it any other way. Pros: We saw just about everything we could hope to see in Peru and Bolivia under tight timeframe, and we barely had to do any of the work. Yure was incredibly organized and set us up with great guides. We particularly loved our guide in Bolivia, Sandro, who was with us from the time we crossed the border (and we may not have successfully crossed the border without him) until our final day. He went above and beyond to make the trip magical. We also appreciated how the itinerary intentionally helped us acclimate to the altitude. Overall, Yure did an exceptional job making a complex trip very easy and memorable, and he did it through wonderful people. Considerations: This is a budget tour, so there are budget accommodations. We had no heat in any of our hotels, and occasionally no hot water. If you’d like to be more comfortable, consider asking for some upgrades, particularly in Cusco. We did not feel Lima added to our trip aside from creating additional logistics. This was the only tour we didn’t enjoy, and we felt like we barely saw the city. We would have preferred flying directly into Cusco, then maybe tackling on Lima on our own at the end of the tour. Similarly, we discovered it can be quite difficult to find flights out of La Paz, and some other travelers on our Uyuni tour actually finished in Chile instead of La Paz. It might be worth looking into that possibility to see if flights are more accessible.

    • Peru Trek 4 GoodOperatorWritten June 2025

If you'd like to elevate your journey with upgraded accommodations, you can do so for an additional US$250 PER PERSON. Hotels include: Lima: Tierra Viva Larco or similar, Cusco: Tierra Viva Saphy, Centro, or similar, Machu Picchu: Golden Sunrise or similar, Puno: Tierra Viva, Royal Inn, or similar, Copacabana: Rosario or similar

    • Peru Trek 4 GoodOperatorWritten June 2025

To visit Machupicchu you take a train to aguas Calientes and from there a bus to Machupicchu

    • Peru Trek 4 GoodOperatorWritten June 2025

Yes you need a visa for Bolivia if you are US citizens. The price is about: US$160 per person

    • Peru Trek 4 GoodOperatorWritten June 2025

The hikes are not difficult, you just have to be well adapted to the altitude and you have the option to rent horses. The hike to the Rainbow mountain is about 2 – 2½ hours uphill and 1 hour downhill. About 5 miles total

We are flexible with the time, starting the tour any time from 1 - 10 September 2025. Since it is a budget tour and we are aged about 60, we devinitly would upgrade the rooms to 4 star or 5 star. We like for all nights a room with a full double bed or two single sized beds. We also want to have warm water and privat toilet and shower. Can you please offer me the surcharge price for the entire tour for 2 persons. Please also tell me the names of some of the potential hotels which you will include, so I can view them online. Another question, do I understand correctly that all the tour guides speak English?

      TravelerWritten April 2025

We understand that we cannot upgrad the hotels for the Uyuni tour without booking a private tour, which is out of our budget. We are considering now two options: Option 1 is to combine your INCA treasures 6 days with the Uyuni Salt Flats & Desert Adventure 5D/4N tour. The flight from Cusco to La Paz we can book bu ourselves. Option 2 is to select the Best of Peru & Bolivia Budget 13 Days Tour, and eventually only upgrading the hotels for the Peru part. However, I would like to clarify, if we select on day 6 the ATV tour to see the Salt Mines of Maras, can we during the tour at any time see the Rainbow Mountain as well?

    • Peru Trek 4 GoodOperatorWritten April 2025

We highly recommend Option 2; it is a better trip. Yes, you can only upgrade the hotels for the Peru part. If you select on day 6 the ATV tour to see the Moray terraces and the Salt Mines of Maras, you cannot see the Rainbow Mountain it is a completely different tour. But if you pay extra US$500 per person, you can take the Rainbow mountain ATV group tour.

      1. La Paz – Uyuni – La Paz Transportation: Yes, the journey by bus (La Paz - Uyuni - La Paz) is included in the package. The flight option is not included, but we can assist in booking if needed. 2. Recommended Flights from Lima to Cusco: Several airlines operate direct flights between Lima (LIM) and Cusco (CUZ). The most reliable options include: LATAM Airlines – Most frequent flights, flexible schedules. Sky Airline – Budget-friendly option. Viva Air – Low-cost alternative (subject to availability). Flight duration is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. We recommend booking a flight leaving at 6 pm or later. 3. Group Discount for Two Travelers: Sorry, but our standard group discounts apply to larger groups.

We have the plan to fly from La Paz to Santiago by 9:15 on 23/03/2025. When the tour finished at La Paz, is it enough time for three hours before flying?

    • Peru Trek 4 GoodOperatorWritten February 2025

Yes, it is rush but possible, normally the bus from Uyuni arrives in La Paz at about 6 am and you can be at the airport at about 6:30 am. It is your choice, but just in case we recommend having an extra day in La Paz and taking the flight the next day.

For days 10 and 11: We use the best available hostels (with private bathrooms), if you want to upgrade of hotels, you also have to pay extra for a private 3 days Uyuni tour. The transportation to San Pedro de Atacama (Chile) is extra US$50 per person. This is only possible if you pay extra for a private Uyuni tour. If you go to Atacama, you won't need a flight back to La Paz the following day. From Atacama you go by car to the airport in Calama and from there they fly to Santiago.

Does a tour guide stay with us all the time - on trains, buses? So is there someone, who "takes care of us" for the whole two weeks? Do the tours really start daily? What are the minimal amount of people for it to happen? How old are the people on your tours normally and where are they from? My boyfriend and I are 28 and looking forward to getting to know people from all over the world.

I read your tour itineray on tourradar and then the one on your Homepage. They differ quite a bit - on tourradar it says that there is only 1 flight necessary (Lima - Cusco) and there is the option for additional flights later, if you don't like overnight buses (overnights buses are included and I hoped together with the group?) and on your homepage it says that we need 4 flights, which would be way more expensive.

    • Peru Trek 4 GoodOperatorWritten January 2025

No, you have the guide you just for the tours. The company is always checking on your trip. Yes normally our trips start daily the minimal amount of people we need is 2. We have clients from 30 – 50 years, they are from different countries.

    • Peru Trek 4 GoodOperatorWritten January 2025

For the trip below you just need 1 flight (not included in the price): Lima – Cusco.

Our trips are confirmed even with just 1 person (paying solo traveler price). After booking, we recommend and can book flights. Buses to and from Uyuni are night buses leaving at 9 pm. You can alternatively pay extra for flights between La Paz and Uyuni, which would require additional nights in La Paz and Uyuni.
