Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival
You'll arrive whenever works best for you and head to your accommodation. Once you check in, the rest of the day is yours to do as you like, whether that's resting up or wandering around the area to get oriented.

- Day 2
Cuzco to Mollepata to Soraypampa Camp
Your pick-up happens early at 05:30am, and you'll travel by tourist bus to Mollepata for some snacks before moving on by car to Challacancha for final gear checks. Then it's a 3-hour trek to Soraypampa Camp at 3,920m/12,860ft with lunch included and views of the surrounding mountains. Later you'll hike to Laguna de Humantay for about 1.5 hours each way, then return to camp for dinner and your first night sleeping under the stars.

Trek to Challhuay or Colcapampa Camp via High Pass
Breakfast comes around 6:00am before you start trekking for 4 hours to the highest pass at 4,650m/15,256ft, where Salkantay and Humantay peaks frame the view. After spending time at the pass, you'll hike down for 2 hours to reach lunch at Huayracpampa, then continue on for another 3 hours through jungle terrain to your camp at 2,900m/9,514ft.

Landmarks Salkantay Humantay - Day 4
Trek to La Playa, Transfer to Hydroelectric Station, Trek to Aguas Calientes
After breakfast at 6:30am, you'll trek through the upper jungle crossing rivers and streams while seeing waterfalls and tropical vegetation. Lunch happens at La Playa at 2,200m/7,218ft, and then a car transfer takes you to Santa Teresa town at 1,700m/5,577ft where it's noticeably warmer. From there you'll drive to the Hydroelectric Station and trek for about 3 hours into Aguas Calientes, where you'll stay at a 3-star hotel.

- Day 5
Explore Machu Picchu & Return to Cuzco
You'll catch one of the first buses at 05:30am for a 25-minute ride to Machu Picchu, arriving in early morning light to see the site at its best. Your guide leads a 2-hour walking tour covering the main sites and the history behind them, and then you'll have free time to explore and take photos. Later you'll return to Aguas Calientes by bus, take the train to Ollantaytambo, and catch a bus back to Cuzco, pulling in late at Plaza San Francisco.
