Itinerary
- Day 1
Bucharest
You'll start your Romanian adventure in Bucharest with a panoramic tour hitting the main landmarks - the House of the Free Press, the Romanian Arch of Triumph, Victory Square, Roman Square, and University Square. After that, the rest of the day is yours to wander around the Old Town on your own. There's a lot to see here, including the remains of the Old Princely Court, which has historical ties to Dracula's residence if you're into that sort of thing.

Bucharest to Sibiu
Breakfast comes first, then you'll head out with a local guide to see the Palace of the Parliament. You'll get to check out its interior with all the Romanian marble and wood work. From there, you're heading toward Transylvania, and you'll stop at Poenari Fortress sitting on the cliffs of the Fagaras Mountains. This 13th-century ruined castle is what inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula story. Continue on to Sibiu for your 3-night stay. If the weather cooperates, you might take the Transfagarasan Highway, which is Europe's most spectacular alpine road.

- Day 3
Sibiu
You'll walk through medieval Sibiu with a local guide, seeing the Bridge of Lies, Citadel Park, Council Tower, Large Square, Huet Square, and Small Square. The Evangelic Church here has a 74-meter tower, the tallest in Transylvania. There's also the Brukenthal Museum to check out. In the afternoon, head to the village of Sibiel and have a traditional dinner with homemade wine and plum brandy at a local spot before heading back to Sibiu.

Sibiu to Hunedoara to Alba Iulia to Sibiu
This day takes you to Hunedoara to see The Hunyad Castle, one of Europe's largest with Gothic-Renaissance style, a drawbridge, medieval ballroom, and connections to Vlad the Impaler. Then you'll go to Alba Iulia to explore the Orthodox Cathedral, Roman Catholic Cathedral, and the Habsburgic Alba Carolina Citadel. You'll return to Sibiu for the night.

- Day 5
Sibiu to Sighisoara
Head out to The Fortified Church of Biertan, a hillside fortress surrounded by vineyards with an interesting story about people seeking divorces. Continue to Sighisoara, which is the birthplace of Count Dracula and one of Europe's best-kept medieval towns. You'll do a guided walking tour hitting the Clock Tower, Dracula's birth house, and the Church on the Hill. Check in for one night.

Sighisoara to Bran to Brasov
You'll drive to Bran and visit Bran Castle, a 14th-century fortress connected to the Dracula legend and now home to a museum with furniture from the Romanian Royal Family. Next, head to Brasov, a popular spot in the Southern Carpathians. The guided tour covers The Black Church, The Black Tower, The White Tower, Ecaterina's Gate, and Rope Street. Your hotel is centrally located.

Brasov to Sinaia to Snagov to Bucharest
Travel to Sinaia and explore Peles Castle, the summer residence of the Romanian Royal Family with a museum featuring original furniture and paintings. You'll walk through the castle gardens and see its Neo-Renaissance style. After that, go to Snagov to visit Snagov Monastery, historically tied to Vlad the Impaler's burial. Head back to Bucharest and check into your hotel. End the evening with a farewell dinner at a local restaurant in the Old Town.
