We would like to thank our Statesman Attendee that took care of all our needs in our room 107. He was friendly and did an amazing job, Marisio our waiter served us with the highest respect and friendliness. Over all Avalon have very good staff and always a smile- nothing too much trouble. The ship was so clean, food was spectacular. We had a surprise group of singers Gwen and Charles who brought great entertainment. The other entertainer was amazing. Loved the top deck BBQ. We met lots of new friends aboard. Thank you Avalon for a trip well executed.

Tour advertised as 6-day tour but in fact the first day we were provided with hotel accommodation only. The second day was largely free time as well. Pre-accommodation in Budapest was difficult to organise having been provided with the name of our hotel only a few weeks before departure. As we arrived in Budapest a few days prior to the commencement of the tour, by the time we were advised of the name of our hotel, it was completely booked and we were forced to find alternate accommodation. Discussions with other travellers (who booked with Globus) advised their cost was lower than ours by quite a substantial amount - plus, they were provided with higher level accommodation on the boat. So, for us, TourRadar seems like an overpriced broker and we would not choose to deal with TourRadar again. The boat trip was really enjoyable, great food, great staff and the room perfectly satisfactory.

    • Avalon WaterwaysOperatorWritten April 2023

In general, Avalon Waterways is a popular cruise line among English-speaking countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. That being said, Avalon Waterways is a global cruise line that attracts passengers from all over the world, so it is likely that you would encounter a diverse group of nationalities on board.

Can you please advise if this tour has the date 19th of May available? And for the cabin, the travellers prefer having the window, and on the higher deck, where it will eliminate the number of stairs.

The only cabin category that still has availability is Category P Cabins. I've updated the pricing on the left side of this page to reflect 2 travellers in a Category P Twin (200 ft², Wall-to-Wall Panoramic Window with Open-Air Balcony) on Royal Deck onboard the Avalon Passion departing on 09th May 2023.

  • J

    Asked on February 24th, 2022

Do we book our own air and transfers from airport to hotel? What about tips for each excursion, separate or included in original cost?

    Flights / Transfers
    Payments
    • Avalon WaterwaysOperatorWritten February 2022

With Avalon normally you book your own flights separately but we can always check on a flight quote for you once you place a booking for the cruise. Airport transfers are normally included if you book flights with Avalon and arrive the day the cruise starts and finish the day the cruise ends. If you do not book flights with Avalon the transfers do come at an extra cost. Tips are not included and would need to be added on your own. 5 - 7 dollars per person per day is normally the recommended amount. If you wanted to tip excursion staff as well that is at your own discretion.
