Budapest
You'll arrive in Budapest and board your river cruise ship by 5 pm (flights need to land by 2 pm). Get settled into your suite and have dinner on board before the ship heads out for an overnight cruise to Vukovar.

Ilok
In Vukovar, you can choose between a guided walking tour that covers heritage and culture with beer tasting, or a guided city tour focused on history. After lunch back on the ship, you'll cruise to Ilok where you can either join a guided tour exploring 1,000-year-old wine traditions with tastings, or take a guided bike tour around the city walls, church, museum and Principovac Castle Estate.

You'll explore Novi Sad, Serbia's second largest city, with three options: a guided tour of the Austro-Hungarian old town with baroque buildings and ancient fortifications, a guided hike up to Petrovaradin for scenic Danube views, or a guided tour that includes the Honey Museum where you'll learn about beekeeping and try local honey specialties. The ship has live entertainment this evening before sailing overnight to Belgrade.

In Belgrade, you can explore the central walkway on your own with your Adventure Host, or join a guided sightseeing tour where the Danube and Sava Rivers meet to see Saint Sava, one of the world's largest Orthodox churches. There's also an optional onboard lecture about Balkan history and culture. Spend your afternoon freely on Knez Mihailova Street checking out cafés, shops, and cultural spots. Later, you can join an optional Bohemian dinner in the Quarter of Skadarlija before an overnight cruise to Golubac.

Iron Gates - Vidin
You'll visit the Fortress of Golubac, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval fortresses, and learn about its history as a border control point between Serbia, the Habsburg Monarchy, and the Ottoman Empire. Next, head to the Lepenski Vir archaeological site for unique Danube Gorge views. Then you'll sail through the spectacular Iron Gates Gorge, a natural border between Serbia and Romania. Spend the afternoon and night cruising to Vidin.

Another option is exploring over two centuries of Bulgarian winemaking tradition with a tour and tasting at a local winery. Spend the afternoon and night cruising to Rousse.

You can explore Rousse's old town by bike with your Adventure Host, or take a full-day guided tour to Veliko Tarnovo (the former Bulgarian capital) with ancient stone houses above the Yantra River and 15th-century Arbanassi. Alternatively, take a guided tour of Bulgaria's largest inland port, its Holy Trinity Church, and the rock-hewn churches of Ivanovo, a UNESCO World Heritage site. There's a Bulgarian folklore show on board this evening before an overnight cruise to Oltenita.

Bran Castle

You'll take a guided tour of Peles Castle, the royal family's summer residence until 1947. Then drive through the Carpathians back to Bucharest, stopping for a local lunch along the way. Spend your afternoon freely exploring the city to check out trendy shops, cafés, museums, beautiful homes, and churches along Victory Avenue.
