- CPCatherine· October 2nd, 2025Every aspect of the 8-day Minibus summer Ring Road Tour was excellent! We wanted a tour that hit as many geographical aspects of Iceland as possible and we were not disappointed. We also wanted to experience local living and stay in cozy inns and hotels and restaurants around the country. We were exposed to wonderful places and a variety of different kinds of food and drink. Everything we saw and everyone was met was just amazing! The tour was very organized and our guide was the best we have ever had! Gylfi was organized, flexible, patient, a good communicator, a good driver, knowledgeable and well connected at all stops. It was touching to see where he grew up and to hear his story about life on a farm. We were very impressed by the fact that Tröll owned all the hotels we stayed at to ensure there was availability for all 18 passengers! We feel that we have a deep appreciation for Iceland and to have a guide who is local and knowledgeable made our experience that much better. I would highly recommend this tour and if you get Gylfi as your guide you will have the best experience on this tour!Show moreTrip date: September 2025
- ARAnslie· September 30th, 2025This is an excellent tour. Johan was our driver/guide. Such a friendly, upbeat person who shared his childhood memories too. We didn’t get nice weather for the first 6 days, but that’s the luck of the draw. What an amazing place Iceland is - from ice cave & glacier walks, a great whale experience to the many waterfalls and the huge lava cave!Show moreTrip date: September 2025
- RARose· September 20th, 2025Full marks to this Summer 8 days minibus tour of Iceland! We have been all around this beautiful island. Very well organised. ample time to see all sights. Our leader, Bane Jovanovic was super! He knows his stuff and was always ready to explain. Very knowledgable! 👍🏻👍🏻Show moreTrip date: September 2025
- RPRhonda· April 21st, 2025Just finished the 8d tour around Iceland. Was overall a fabulous trip and I would highly recommend it! Thor was absolutely fabulous. He made sure we saw everything including several extra stops which added extra value. Only thing I was not thrilled about was the horseback riding. The horses and people were fabulous. but would be better if we had more freedom to actually ride the horses and not just walk in a line on a trail. Iceland is a great country and people were all friendly.Show moreTrip date: April 2025
Antonel· August 25th, 2024The tour was excellent. The guide, John ( Ionut ) was awesome and took us to the most interesting places. He knew the business well and is a skilled driver. My only gripe is that the first two nights we stayed in a semi-decent hotel, apparently owned by Troll Expeditions. It was great that we had a bathroom in the room, but the rooms were small and poorly ventilated. Great location, though. All in all, I recommend this tour if you're an active person and able to hike a little bit. Make sure you take the extra activities package as they were extremely awesome!Show moreTrip date: August 2024- CCK· August 23rd, 2024Good tour to get an overview of Iceland. Besides the sights, the standout activities were the glacier hike, Katla Ice Cave and whale watching. The appropriate attire and equipment were provided which made the activities safe and enjoyable.Show moreTrip date: August 2024

- GRGraham· July 29th, 2024We had a busy but very enjoyable 8 day tour. We had David as our guide for the trip. He was great but sometimes his driving left us a little nervous, especially when overtaking! No, David!!! 😉 The tour itself took us to many lovely places. Fantastic scenery with waterfalls, lava fields, glaciers, ice cave, geysers, coastal scenery, a spa trip, whale watching etc. Plenty of comfort and food breaks each day too for the 12 on our tour. After a couple of days rain, we were blessed with warmth and sunshine which made the trip. We were disappointed with our first hotel for two nights as their kitchen was closed so we had to buy microwave meals for those nights. One hotel was also overbooked so we had a long drive one afternoon to get to the new one. I felt this made our day at the glacier lagoon shorter than scheduled. All in all we enjoyed our holiday. It was good that the others on the tour were very friendly and some similar in age to us silver surfers! Thank you.Show moreTrip date: July 2024

BALACHANDRU· June 18th, 2024Would recommend this as a great trip to explore Iceland. The country has to wide variety of scenery ranging from hot springs, lava caves, waterfalls to ice caves. We were lucky to have sunny weather all 8 days. Our tour guide Daviō was amazing, he was sharing interesting stories about various tourist spots we visited. Also, he was sharing great food recommendationsShow moreTrip date: June 2024

Traveler•Written August 2025How do I communicate what hotel for you to pick me up at day 1. Also can I add on Lava caves and VOK baths during the trip or have to decide at time of booking?
Troll ExpeditionsOperator•Written August 2025Once you will arrive in Reykjavik, you can stay at a hotel of your choice (not included in the tour), and the same goes for the last night after we drop you off. When booking, you'll be able to select your accommodation or the nearest designated bus stop for pick-up on Day 1. As for add-ons like the Lava Cave and Vök Baths, you can add the Lava Cave during the booking process or at least 48 hours before departure so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Asked on January 4th, 2025I want to 12 seaters van and private driver only. Because many time visit to Iceland, I need not guider.
Troll ExpeditionsOperator•Written January 2025A private guided tour on a minibus is quite an expensive experience compared to regular tours. Consider around 300,000 ISK per day (12hours day) as a budget, activities and hotel excluded. Hotels cost about 25,000-30,000 ISK per room, twin, double, or triple, plus you need to pay for the guide's room.
