Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Reykjavik
You'll arrive at Keflavik Airport and catch a shuttle bus heading into Reykjavik to reach your hotel. If your flight gets in early enough, there's time to walk around the capital and get oriented before settling in for the night.

Reykjavik to Akureyri
Meeting your guide at 09:00, you'll head west toward North Iceland. First stop is Grábróck volcano crater with its greenish lava field surrounding the hike, followed by Glaumbaer, a traditional turf house farm that's now a folk museum. The drive takes you through fjord landscapes and mountain terrain before reaching Akureyri, where you can spend the evening checking out the town.

Akureyri to Lake Myvatn
Start the morning in Akureyri with views over Eyjafj\u00f6rdur fjord, and there's an option for whale watching if you're interested. Later, you'll drive to Godafoss waterfall, then spend the afternoon wandering Lake Myvatn's geological features like lava formations at Kálfarströnd, the pseudo craters at Skútustaðir, and Hverfjall tephra cone. By evening, you'll relax in the geothermal Myvatn Nature Baths.

Lake Myvatn to East Iceland
Early on, you'll walk through the lava labyrinth of Dimmuborgir called 'the dark castles'. The afternoon brings you to Namaskard hot spring area with its bubbling mud pools and steaming solfataras. After that, you'll travel through uninhabited highlands toward East Iceland. During summer months (June to August), there's a detour to see Dettifoss, a powerful waterfall in the region.

East Fjords to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon
You'll drive along East Fjords on winding roads, passing fishing villages and stopping at a stone and mineral collection. From there, Vatnajökull glacier comes into view (Europe's largest), and you'll head to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon with its floating icebergs. There's a boat tour between the icebergs, and afterward you'll walk on Diamond Beach where more icebergs wash up on the black sand.

South Coast Drive
Traveling along Vatnajökull glacier, you'll pass Europe's second-largest national park and Iceland's highest mountains. The route crosses the Eldhraun lava field and the sandy south coast with its dramatic cliffs and waterfalls. You'll see molten lava at the Icelandic Lava Show, then walk Reynisfjara's black lava beach. Next comes Skógafoss waterfall (60 meters high) and the unique Seljalandsfoss, where you can hike behind the falling water.

Golden Circle and Return to Reykjavik
The Golden Circle route starts at Friðheimar where you'll learn about Icelandic horses and tour a geothermal greenhouse. You'll see Geysir's hot springs and watch Strokkur erupt every 5-7 minutes. Gullfoss waterfall (32 meters) comes next, followed by Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO site. The drive back includes a short city tour of Reykjavik highlighting the world's northernmost capital.
