- Day 1
Sedona
You'll start with the Hangover Trail, an 8.6-mile hike that climbs 1,198 feet through old wagon roads leading to a red rock saddle. The route takes you back through the area's history, particularly the story of T.C. Schnebly who the town was named after, and you'll get panoramic canyon views throughout. After finishing the hike, head to Lo Lo Mai Campground to set up your tent. From there, you can swim in Oak Creek, take a shower, or just explore the area before settling in for dinner and a campfire.

Sedona
This day involves tackling Sedona's highest peak at 7,122 feet on an 8.8-mile route with 2,250 feet of elevation gain. You'll hike up through forest with tall deciduous and coniferous trees, passing red and white sandstone spires as you go higher. Once at the summit, the views stretch out over the entire Red Rocks area and down into Oak Creek Canyon below. Stop for a picnic lunch at the top, then make your way back down to camp. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and having dinner.

Sedona
This hike is a bit easier at 7.5 miles and takes you near Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock before climbing into layered red rock sandstone shelves. Your guide will point out desert plants along the way. The destination is Cathedral Rock, a nearly 1,000-foot sandstone formation, and you'll rest in the shade of cottonwood trees along Oak Creek's banks. After a prepared lunch, you'll hear about the native and indigenous history of the area, which was used as a hunting ground and has petroglyphs. Complete the hike through the towering cliffs and canyons, then return to camp for the evening.

Sedona
End your trip with a moderate creek hike ranging from 6 to 10 miles depending on your choice, with elevation changes between 400 and 1,400 feet. You'll follow the creek for about 3.5 miles to reach a high desert oasis that's perfect for swimming, shaded by trees. Enjoy lunch right by the creek with plenty of shade. After that, you have two options: continue another 1,100 feet up into the Mogollon Rim or take an easier walk back to the trailhead. This hike shows you a different side of the Red Rock District. Once finished, travel back into Sedona and depart after your four days.
