Itinerary
- Day 1
St. George to Zion National Park
Your trip kicks off with a 1.5-hour shuttle heading from St. George into Zion National Park. Once you arrive, you'll hike the Riverside Walk and then move into the Virgin River Narrows where you'll wade through clear water surrounded by towering red sandstone walls. By evening, you're settled into your cabin at either Zion Mountain Ranch or Cliffrose Lodge. After dinner, there's an option to take a short hike if you're not too worn out from the day.

- Day 2
Zion National Park
This day focuses on a demanding 8-mile hike that takes you up through switchbacks carved into red Navajo sandstone. You'll work your way into Echo Canyon, and the real payoff comes when you reach the viewpoint looking out over Zion Canyon and all its red rock formations. It's a solid day of hiking, so plan for a good 5 to 6 hours of trail time depending on your pace.

Zion to Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument via Bryce Canyon
You'll spend about 3 hours driving south to Bryce Canyon National Park. Once there, you're hitting a 5.5-mile hike on trails that don't see as much traffic. You'll check out Boat Mesa, the Sinking Ship formation, Tower Bridge, China Wall, and Fairyland Canyon from different angles. After grabbing dinner somewhere near Bryce, you'll head out toward Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument for your next stop.

- Day 4
Calf Creek Falls
You're walking 6 miles down a sandy canyon floor to reach Calf Creek Falls. Along the way, you'll spot Indian ruins and pictographs, and if you're lucky, some wildlife. The falls themselves drop 128 feet, and yes, the water is cold, but swimming is definitely on the agenda. Lunch happens right there at the falls, and if you're up for it, Anasazi State Park near Boulder, UT is within reach before heading back to the lodge for dinner.

Devil's Garden and Slot Canyons
After breakfast, you're driving down the historic Hole-in-the-Rock Road to Devil's Garden National Recreation Area, which is basically a maze of small rock knobs, arches, and eroded formations scattered everywhere. You'll grab lunch, then head into Spooky Canyon, which is narrow and dark and requires some creative sideways movement through tight spots. From there, Peek-a-Boo Canyon opens things up with interconnected potholes, arches, and little grottos to explore.

Grand Staircase-Escalante to St. George via Bryce Canyon
After finishing breakfast and checking out, you're driving back toward St. George with one more stop at Bryce Canyon. You'll hike the Navajo Loop trail, descending through Wall Street and past the Silent City before circling back to the rim. Lunch is up there on the rim with views down to Wall Street spreading out below, and then it's the drive back to St. George to wrap up your trip.
