  Not sure what multi bed room accommodations mean. We're looking for a room for the two of us.

    Some of the rooms have 2 beds, but it's not a dorm-type setup where you'll be sharing a room with other guests on the trip. Unfortunately, there's only space for 1 more person on the May 13th trip, and we can't add capacity. There is still space for two on the May 6-9, May 8-11, and May 21-24 trips if your dates are flexible.

  I am a reasonably fit 72-year-old but with very little hiking experience. My main reason for travelling to Utah is to visit and volunteer at Best Friends for a coupla days but I also want to see Zion and Bryce. Can you tell me how strenuous the terrain is and how much walking is involved? I've been to Lake Powell, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley etc and I just want to see the Utah National Parks. I have a Park Pass

    This is a hiking tour, so each day the group is out hiking. Day 1 = 7.5 miles, Day 2 = 5 miles - walking in water the entire time, Day 3 = 5-8 miles, Day 4 = 4 miles. We encourage all guests to train and be physically prepared for our trips. The better shape you are in, the more fun you will have. The hikes themselves aren't especially challenging. The trails are well maintained and packed sand. There is elevation gain and loss.

    Are there any tours that don't require strenuous hiking of 5-7 miles per day?

    All we offer are hiking tours. They are all around 5 or more miles per day. The only option we have that is more flexible are private day hikes. We can check on guide availability for day hikes if that is something you are interested in. Since day hikes are private it would be just you and the guide.

    With a 10 year old, the trip would have to be a private one. We have had other 10 and 12 year olds do this trip. We would be happy to check our availability to create a private tour if you have dates or a date range in mind, let us know.

  Where will the meeting take place the evening before the tour starts? What gear, clothing will we need for this trip? Can it be purchased over there? Where will we get dropped off on the last day, end of our tour?

    The pre-trip orientation meeting is at the Best Western Coral Hills in St George, UT at 5pm on June 27th. On the final day, July 1st, your guide will drop you back off at your hotel in St George probably not later than 7pm. On our website we have a detailed downloadable PDF trip packet with a full packing list, a day to day itinerary, pre- and post-trip recommended hotels and airports, etc.

  If we fly into Las Vegas airport the day before the tour and leave the day after the tour, do you offer pickup and drop off services?

    We do not offer pick up and drop off services from Las Vegas. We will only be able to pick you up and drop you off in St.George on the first and last day of your tour. There is a shuttle system that runs between Las Vegas and St. George called the St. George Shuttle.
