I know that there can be problems which can affect the accommodation on a tour such as the SA outback but it would help if the programme could be more specific about where the motels, hotels and cabins are. Also It would be helpful if the starting base hotel could be confirmed early enough for the traveller to make a booking with confidence. The guide put in a 100+ performance but I feel that there should be a companion driver as a backup in case something goes wrong and to give the tour guide a rest from a very arduous schedule.

The map on your website shows heading north after leaving William Creek before going south to Wabma Kadarbu then Marree. When I plot it on Google maps it just heads generally south. What does this indicate? Also, have you ever had a return delayed? I wish to book a cruise that begins the day after this tour returns and couldn't afford to miss it.

Regarding the route discrepancy you noticed between the map on our website and Google Maps, we are currently checking with our local team for clarification. We will provide you with an update as soon as we receive a response. As for your concern about potential return delays, we are confirming this as well with them to ensure there is no impact on your plans for the cruise following your tour.

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten October 2024

The map might show a slightly upward route between Coober Pedy and William Creek, the actual path is more straightforward across the map. After reaching William Creek, the direction turns south. We have never encountered delays on the return trip to Adelaide, so it is very likely that the tour will finish on schedule.
