Customer Reviews
- Caroline· June 14th, 2025Loved this experience - so happy I chose this route and decided to travel with Intrepid for my first Camino. Definitely recommend!Show more
- Holly· May 19th, 2025I had the most wonderful experience on the Portuguese Camino! Elisa "Eli" Bernardinello was an exceptional tour guide! Her wealth of knowledge, welcoming personality, and guidance to ensure that I had an enjoyable time are what contributed to an unforgettable journey. I would highly recommend this tour to others who are interested in this pilgrimage.Show more
- Stephanie· July 17th, 2024Tour guide Sergi was great, really patient, helped where he could and really genuinely tried to ensure everyone was having an amazing time. However, I felt the tour itself was way overpriced for what it was. I’m used to group tours having extras/experiences and felt this was just travel (all public), accommodation and the guide. I’ve paid have the price for group tours in Europe with same duration but multiple extras/activities. I also felt the accommodations were average, some above some below so it wasn’t as if that made up for it. I really do not know where the $7k went which is disappointing. I’m on my 7th group tour now and all others have made me feel I got real value for money.Show more

Asked on November 24th, 2024Do I need to carry all of my possessions in my backpack or can they be transported to each hotel?
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written November 2024
On this trip you must pack as lightly as possible because you'll be expected to carry your own bag. Although you won't be required to walk long distances with your luggage (max 30 minutes), we strongly recommend keeping the weight under 15 kg (33 lb). Most travellers carry their luggage in a backpack, although an overnight bag with a shoulder strap would suffice. You'll also need a day pack/bag to carry water and a camera for daytrips.

Traveler•Written August 2023What is "Shoulder Season" and again What are the BEST months for this hike. I will NOT go in summer.
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written August 2023
Spring and fall are both great seasons for hiking in Spain. May month is Best for walking and trekking on the Camino de Santiago. Spring (April-June) is a beautiful time to be in Spain. With mellow temperatures and blooming flowers, it's a perfect time to do a walking or trekking trip. Temperatures are ideal for both rigorous walking and casual strolling, averaging around 14-16°C/57-60°F.

Traveler•Written August 2023Where would I fly into and out of AND how would I get from airport to you and from last day to airport
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written August 2023
You would fly in and out of Santiago de Compostela Airport (SCQ). Pre-booked arrival transfer from the airport is available. Due to local regulations, departure transfers cannot be pre-booked, and local taxis must be used. Taxi fare from your hotel to the airport will cost approximately EUR20-30. Please ask your leader or hotel staff for assistance in arranging a taxi.

Asked on January 10th, 2022Walk the Camino to Santiago tour to Sanitago to Saria is guided, but you don't see to offer transporting the luggage? or additional services such as dinner or a possibility for transfer from the airport to Saria?
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written January 2022
The luggage will in fact be transported. However you will be required to carry a "day pack" with you. This will include water, snacks and anything you may need along the way as some of the days are quite long. We do offer a transfer from Santiago De compostela airport to the included accommodation on day one.
