Itinerary
- Day 1
Zurich to Lucerne
You'll arrive at Zurich Airport and catch a direct one-hour train to Lucerne. After checking into your hotel, take some time to settle in and relax before heading out for a walk through the Old Town. The Chapel Bridge is worth seeing, and you'll also find the Lion Monument in the same area. It's a nice way to get oriented without overdoing it on your first day.

- Day 2
Lucerne
This morning, you'll head out for the Golden Round Trip at Mount Pilatus, which involves a loop using multiple forms of mountain transportation. A boat ride, cogwheel train, and cable car make up the route, so you're getting different perspectives of the landscape throughout the day. Back in Lucerne by afternoon, you can browse through shops or galleries in the Old Town if you're up for more exploring, or just take it easy.

Lucerne to Interlaken
A scenic 2-hour train ride takes you from Lucerne to Interlaken on the Golden Pass Line. You'll pass by lakes, green meadows, traditional Swiss chalets, and Alpine peaks along the way. Once you arrive and check into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to wander around. Hohematte Park is a good spot to walk through, or if you want to get on the water, there are boat trips available on Lake Thun or Lake Brienz.

- Day 4
Jungfraujoch - Grindelwald
Starting early, you'll take a train from Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen, then continue on to Kleine Scheidegg. From there, board the Jungfrau Railway for a 45-minute ride up to Jungfraujoch (the highest railway station in Europe). You'll have time to visit the Sphinx Observatory, walk through the Ice Palace, and check out the Alpine Sensation round tour. The Plateau offers good views and walking paths. Later in the afternoon, you'll descend via the new Eiger Express gondola down to Grindelwald, explore the village for a bit, then take a train back to Interlaken.

- Day 5
Interlaken to Zermatt
A 2.5-hour train journey takes you from Interlaken Ost to Zermatt, and the route shows off views of the Swiss Alps, valleys, and small villages throughout. After checking in at your hotel, you'll have the afternoon to walk around Zermatt, which is a car-free mountain resort. The pedestrian-only setup makes it quite different from most towns, so just taking time to wander and get the feel of the place is worthwhile.

Matterhorn Glacier Paradise
You'll travel by cogwheel train from Zermatt up to Riffelberg, then switch to a cable car heading to Klein Matterhorn (also called Matterhorn Glacier Paradise). The Viewing Platform offers 360-degree Alpine views from up there. If you're into winter sports, skiing and sledding are available. The Glacier Palace has ice sculptures and caves to walk through, so there's quite a bit to see and do at this elevation.

Zermatt to St. Moritz
Early in the morning, you'll board the Glacier Express train for an 8-hour journey from Zermatt to St. Moritz. It's a full day of travel but the views along the way make it worthwhile. After arriving in the afternoon and checking into your hotel, you'll have time to rest up. Later, the town's nightlife scene is worth checking out if you're not too tired from the train ride.
